This hotel is in the process of becoming a Days Inn so there is some construction but don't let that deter you. It's a great place to stay! Beds are comfortable, safe area, excellent staff, especially Catelynn and her husband(can't remember his name),offered a grab and go breakfast of waffles, breads, ceral, pastries, coffee and juices which was plenty for us. Everything was very clean, no bugs or hairs anywhere. Only thing I didn't like was that there was only 1 garbage can in the room but when I mentioned it to the new owners, I was told that they'd ordered new ones but had not come in yet .Not a problem, only an inconvenience. Very happy with our stay and would stay again if ever in Helen. Price was reasonable ,people are friendly, area is safe, easy to get to, what more do you need??

There were no keys and you had to wait for the person running the front desk to let you in. They have no towels. The sheets had like pet hair in them. The paint was peeling off the walls. The bathroom door knob was loose. It was loud with other guests banging doors and revving engines. Will not stay there again.

Where can I start? No keys, clerk has to let u in, no towels dyer broken, towels arrived at 7:30pm from another hotel, no one at front desk ever, breakfast was poor, had to slam door to shut. Room smelled, holes in wall where headboard use to be. This place is has feel of "I'll be closing soon" Seems like only one person on duty at any given time.. Prob one of the worst places I have ever stayed.

The lady would not allow us to check in. Said the room wasn't ready. Check-in was at 3 and it was 5:30. Didn't know when it would be ready. Maybe by 8. No other size room available. Asked me if I just wanted to go somewhere else. So we did! Horrible, hands down. No explanation offered. She just didn't know.

We decided to come up for the Christmas market and at the last minute decided that we wanted to stay in Helen and this was the last available room in town or I would have turned around and cancelled. Once we passed the toxic green pool and numerous rooms that had broken door latches, we discovered our supposedly non- smoking room that reeked of cigarette smoke. It was so bad I had to buy some Febreeze just to tolerate it. There were only 2 towels, no bath mat, a moldy shower curtain, the fridge had a giant chunk of brown ice growing in the freezer compartment and the blankets had cigarette burns. The beds were so bad that every time you rolled over the creaking springs woke everyone up. Breakfast was white bread or cereal. They were out of waffle batter. Stay ANYWHERE else!

This was booked as a last minute thought on a day trip for my husband and I's anniversary. We decided to stay overnight as there was alot more to see than we thought. We went through Priceline and booked a "last minute deal" for a 3 star hotel. If I could rate this as negative stars, I would. Front desk was off-putting to say the least. Had to change rooms due to AC not working, next room wasn't much better. Fast forward to a week after and I start noticing bite marks and blood spots on our sheets. Yup, brought home bed bugs. Now, we did not notice this at the time because we didn't sleep long in the room, but this was the only place we had been. Called corporate, as this was the number on the website, they told me an investigation would be open and check back in a week after they investigated at the property, advised not to call the property, as they would deny it. Called a week later, NOTHING was done. Called the property and they, of course, are denying it. Per the front desk person, former manager, nothing was going to be done because the owner was not interested in fixing ANYTHING. All I asked for was compensation for the extermination I now had to incur by staying in this NASTY hotel. I should've went with my initial instincts and slept in our car after having to change rooms once. Went down in the morning for breakfast and there really was no breakfast to speak of, and if there was, everything was dirty. The rooms were old, musty, dated and inadequate. I am warning EVERYONE strenuously, PLEASE stay away from this hotel!!

This hotel is dark and dingy. The pool was nasty. No carpet in the rooms. Refrigerator leaked. And the bathroom was so out dated I don't think that it would ever be real clean. I will never go back. The ice machine was broken, it was a terrible experience and we were so discussed that we didn't even spend the night. The room was booked for 80.00 but they billed me 106.00.

There is a smell of stale strong potent urine when you get out of the car. So bad that I had to wear my mask! Unprofessional sales clerk checked us in. Requested a room on the 1st floor because of my mother is 81 and is scared of falling and was told all 1st floor rooms were taken. The bedsheets looked dirty and the room did not look like it had been cleaned in YEARS! DISGUSTING mold in the shower and toilet would not flush! There were not trash cans in the room but there were very large trash cans near the stairwell that were never emptied and smelled PUTRID! NO WIFI the entire time that we were there and NO TV SERVICE! If you have to entertain kids or in our case a mother with dementia you most definitely DO NOT want to stay here. Was given 100$ refund on checkout for NO TV OR WIFI service only to find out a day later that the manager just debited 100$ and then credited 100$ back to my account to get me to leave I'm assuming. What a HORRIBLE place! DO NOT STAY AT ECONOLODGE!!!

We were there for a Thursday-Sunday convention. Our group had reserved all but 12 rooms. This is an older facility so we expected things not to be perfect but this was very far from perfect. I will say that the AC will freeze you out. We had a room with two beds. The one I slept in was bad....no terrible. It sounded like it was going to come apart when I rolled over. It was almost like rolling in a pile of tin cans. It took quite a while and effort the part of the staff to get it swapped with one from another room. They did offer to let us change rooms. The trim molding on the top of the headboard of Kim, Brent, Joe or Brian busted their fannies to make things right but only had so much to work with. We heard that half of the hotel had been remodeled but the owner stopped and was not planning on doing any more. Stay away.
