This is our favorite campground that is close to where we live. It is shaded with beautiful tall trees. There are great trails for hiking. Nice clean campsites. No noise or partying. Family friendly and a great palce for kids to ride their bikes. Love it.

This was a beautiful and enormous park! The campground was full for the weekend and a little noisy, but not too bad. We just returned from a Sunday drive through Franklin Delano Roosevelt state park and it was so peaceful and relaxing. I suggest you take a couple of chairs, blanket and picnic as we did and enjoy your surroundings. The cottages by the lake are beautiful and it's just so scenic with trails everywhere.

We use the park trails for hiking, and always enjoy it. No matter where you start it's great scenery. I prefer the TV tower trailhead, because of the streams and little waterfalls. I haven't camped there in over a year, but I was not impressed with the bath house facilities the last time we were there.

We stayed a few nights at the Cottages in the State Park. Lots of fun for the kids and the staff was great. Cottage was clean and everything worked inside, lot of fun and relaxing.

We've taken our kids down to Pine Mountain almost yearly for the Fantasy in Lights show at Callaway Gardens, with our last trip being in Dec.2008.
