I planned a last minute girls weekend to Chicago this month and we decided to stay at the Travelodge. Although I do prefer more upscale hotels, I thought that our stay worked out great. We booked through Hotels.com. Our room was small with a modern bathroom. (No hairdryers in the room, but you can borrow one from the front desk.)... More

I think this hotel is too expensive for what it offers. The outside and lobby look decent, but the rooms need to be updated if they would like to continue charging the rates they do. The room might of been clean, but because of how outdated it looked, it made the overall feeling of the room dirty. More

I stayed here for 2 nights and have no complaints. Friendly staff and smooth operations. Yes, the place is a bit old, dirty and run down, but being downtown for around $130 a night, it is tough to beat. I would stay here again. More

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple of years, The main reason is because of the price. This time, I stayed a few extra days following my business trip, and realized that the location is pretty good. It's near the lake, the art museum, and a Hilton hotel that has a fairly decent bar and restaurant.... More

We have stayed here several years in a row when we attend the Chicago Blues Festival. It is almost right across the street from Grant Park where the festival is held and a very easy walk to Lake Michigan. The rooms are small but clean and for the price can't be beat for Chicago. There is a good Thai restaurant... More

This is the worst 'hotel' I have been to in my life. Checked in on October 20th, 2011 with my husband and sister in law and her husband. When we got there about 6pm we were immediately creeped out. The rooms and hallways were something from a horror movie!!! We changed out of our traveling clothes never left anything out... More

I sincerely don't believe some of the negative reviews this property has received. I stay here every year around Christmas for a conference that I've been attending since 2000. And I keep coming back. Yes, the rooms are very small...still bigger than what you would expect in Europe. And the steam heat can sometimes be a little noisy (I can... More

I was traveling with my brother on this trip. We booked this hotel knowing how poorly it was rated in tripadvisor; we were looking for a reasonably-priced downtown hotel for just one night. I have to admit that it is quite well located, just a block or so from Michigan Avenue. And, at around $150 per night, it was reasonably... More

Myself & 3 friends all in our mid 30's stayed at the Travelodge October 14th-17th. We arrived early & the bell man was more than happy to hold our bags while we explored the great city of Chicago & waited for check-in. Normal check-in is @ 3pm, but we were able to get in our room by 2pm. There is... More

I was in town for the Chicago Marathon and stayed at the Travelodge. Let me tell you..... BIG MISTAKE! Elevators didn't work properly, my room was not cleaned properly and smelled like something died in there. There was one clean towel in my room.... ONE towel. I understand that the hotel is busy given the marathon and all, but they... More
