We spent Christmas at the Drake this year and were absolutely delighted with our experience. There is magic in the air with the splendid tree and the bustling of activity over the holiday. Alot of tradition is still in play and the old world of Chicago gets celebrated here. Even the flower shop is a treat to walk through! The... More

On NewYears Eve 2011 upon our arrival we were greeted by Gentlemen who helped us with our luggage and opened the car door and ask if we need assistance. Checkin is smooth and our luggage and car is taken care of immediately by the very helpful staff. There wasn't an instance that you were never made feeling a special guest.... More

Dear Trip Advisor, Thank you for your review. It seems as though your arrival to our hotel was as grand as it would have been on NYE 1920 when we first opened our doors to the public. Our team is truly dedicated to creating that lasting impression, and I am delighted to see such occurred. It is exciting to hear... More

This is a great hotel. Centrally located. One of the most famous in chicago. Rooms are old but the hotel is well maintained and in great shape. Very comfortable rooms a bit warm at times. I was only there for one night and that was my only complaint, the rooms temprature was warm and i had no temp control. More

Always go to Chicago at Christmastime- lobby always looks wonderful. But the room I had, a juinor suite, looking out on Lake Shore Drive, and the snowy lake, is looking tired.Used to stay at Ambassador East, but left that for Drake, when it began looking worn out. Now its been reinvented as The Public, and looks great. Suggest Drake do... More

Stayed a night here on the way home from a vacation in Mexico. Great location, gorgeous hotel oozing old world charm - like you are transported to the 1920s! Huge hotel, it must take up almost a whole block on its own. Gorgeous furnishings and extremely comfortable bed (we booked a king deluxe room). Great minibar selection and nice tv... More

My wife and I have developed the excellent habit of staying at The Drake every year during the holidays when visiting her family in the Chicago area. The hotel is top notch in every aspect. The rooms are spacious and appropriately furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable and the hotel is perfectly situated in the Gold Coast near Water Tower... More

One of the finest Hilton properties.. And a class apart. I have stayed in the Conrad In Michigan avenue, which is way different from this. I'm a HH member so I usually land in one of he Hilton hotels. I see a reason why most celebrities including princess diana stayed her, it's a culture rich hotel and maintained it's originality.... We stayed at the Drake to celebrate our 20th anniversary December 27 - 29. Having stayed for our honeymoon, and on many occasions since, there was no doubt about where to stay this year. A junior suite with executive floor privileges was the start of a great stay. The hotel is as beautiful as ever, with some recent renovations obvious.... More

We checked in on Dec 23rd as a stopover between Missouri and Wisconsin, where we were to spend Christmas. There certainly was some "good" interspersed with the "bad" and I make it my rule to always post the "good" first. So, the lobby of this grand dame is lovely with lots to see for all ages in many holiday decorations.... More
