This was our 15th night of our current trip and 33rd night this year in a hotel, and this was the worst hotel of the year. “Everything was Out of order”

We have stayed at MANY HIE over the years and this one was by far the worst. The carpet in the room was torn. Ice machine did not work. Pool was drained and out of order. We stayed at the HIE in Metropolis on our way to Hotlanta. It is convienently located close to the Interstate which made it very handy. Room was nice, beds were comfortable and clean. very nice place to stay, quiet and reasonable rates. $15 cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express in Paducah, Ky, just over the bridge! They do need to upgrade the mattresses in the rooms, though. But they were pretty comfortable.
