Although I've lived in Barcelona for more than 5 years, this was my first trip into Lleida and I loved it. Cal Perello is in a tiny town of about 15 people. No coffee shops, convenient stores or nightlife. Just you, David, the horses and perhaps a few goats. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway then this is an... More

We originally booked this place because my boyfriend's mom wanted to go for a ride (she takes regular lessons) but unfortunately Aine injured her back just before the trip and we had to cancel the ride. But even so, we (just my boyfriend and I) really enjoyed our stay. The house is rather quirky in its design (it's very old)... More

We stumbled upon Cal Perello by accident on Google... little did we know what a perfect experience it would turn out to be. A very convenient and scenic drive from Barcelona, this amazing B&B in a town of just 20 people is an incredible treat. The horseback riding was stellar, with beautiful and friendly horses, David was a fantastic guide... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Cal Perello during a weekend in February, and we were so happy we did. Just arrived you will notice that this is not a standard guest house. You will feel at home thanks to the hosts David and Eva who are so welcoming and easy to talk to. Accommodation is not luxurious, but it... More

Cal Perello really was a find for us & we've visited now for the second time. If you love open countryside, horses & hearty organic Catalan cuisine then look no further. David & Eva are excellent hosts & everything about the way they run the house (which is ancient & magnificent) & the their equestrian tours is truly superb... you... More

I can only say the reviews above are accurate and a summary of how I and my lady felt. We were quite suspired when we arrived there. It is really something different but has a lot of character. The trip to there was already an adventure. David and Eva were both welcoming hosts and we felt more home than as... More

You can ride all the way to Madrid at this time of year" David said as we pulled up after cantering over the recently harvested fields. Even in a half day' riding (in the evening, because of the August heat) we covered many miles over hill tracks, rode through valley with stream and woods, as well as lanes and fields... More

Before booking Cal Perello, I read the two reviews already posted, one from Seattle and the other from Dublin. I just re-read them - they are so well written and so accurate that I am hard pressed to add anything - both describe our experience. I will say that our time there, only 4 days, was an absolute highlight in... More

David and Eva are perfect hosts. Eva’s gourmet Catalonian cooking and her family’s delicious organic wine will delight you. David’s educating on Catalonian history will enlighten you. The medieval and renaissance house will intrigue you. The medieval towns, the horses, the almond trees and agricultural fields and the spiced air will enthrall you. We highly recommend this delightful retreat.

Cal Perelló is a renaissance Manor house built in 1530, situated in the tranquil village of Ametlla de Segarra, in central Catalonia, only 100 kms from Barcelona. In 2007 Cal Perelló opened as a small country retreat with just three bedrooms, devoted to people with an interest in horses and riding. As well as enjoying your stay in this atmospheric house, you will have time to build a relationship with the horses allocated to you. We pride ourselves on giving guests time to get to know their horses, learning and enjoying how to communicate with them.We organize half and full day guided ridings for two people as well as longer travels (up to 5 days) for visiting the medieval towns, castles and monasteries around us.Thanks to our family connection with Comalats wineries, we also offer guided tours of the vineyards and wine tasting excursions. ... more   less
