Close enough to I-94 to be convenient, distant enough to be quiet with I-90/80 equidistant to the south. If tenting you would hear the railway track 2-miles distant. At the off-season times I've visited I've never needed a reservation. Counter service is relaxed, be prepared to ring the bell and wait. Most sites are not paved but they are well-graveled... More

We camped Saturday night at a tent site at MCCG and enjoyed ourselves. We had two elementary aged children and even though we didn't have time to enjoy the playground and pool since we wore everyone out at Indiana Dunes State Park, they looked great. I only have a couple minor criticisms: 1. I did wish the tent sites were... More

The campground facilites were clean. There was a fishing pond and I talked to a gentleman who had caught several fish. However the "sites" in the portion of the campground we saw were tiny. The one we were originally assigned didn't even have room for us to park our suburban in the site with the trailer! This was only an... More

I'm sorry you got a small site. We do have sites that will accommodate the largest RV's on the road. More

Very clean and quiet campground during the mid week. We camped there a Wed-Thurs night! Basic cabins were very clean. Bathrooms were also very clean! Wish the pool was open a little later for families with kids. Close to get to the beach.

We rented a small cabin with 2 sets of bunk beds in the back room and a full size bed in the front room. It was very nice except we couldn't adjust the AC like we wanted. There was a small but sufficient refrigerator and also a microwave. We ate outside on our picnic table for breakfast. The bathrooms were... More

We spent 5 nights in a very clean basic cabin and really liked the place. Location: MCCG is the only area campground we saw which is not located directly on the highway. It is within easy driving distance to grocery stores and restaurants (and Michigan City, and Indiana Dunes, and...) while still being out of the fray. We loved our... More

My wife and I have been visiting Michigan City Campground for 8 years now regularly. We come back because we always enjoy ourselves. This is our 4th RV together, so we are rather avid campers, and we are very selective about where we stay. Each year we return, we are surprised by the additions / improvements made. Since our first... More

Expensive place to pitch a tent. Crappy campground but works when the better, cheaper ones are full. Pool is nice but closes crazy early, opens too late for a morning swim. We saw 3different, noisey tow trucks drive past our site late at night. The sign by the toilet saying 'you plug, you plunge' really put me off. I'm pretty... More

Rates are a bit outrageous, and the store and recreation room close at 8 pm!? So much for customer service. The woman proprietor seems to be bothered by those of us shelling out waaaayy too much for a campsite.
