We've stayed at the Kingsley a time or two a year for over 5 years now as we visit family. Up until the last couple of years, it was charming, well run, clean and had gracious hosts. Unfortunately that has all changed. In any interactions with the hosts, one gets the feeling you are inconveniencing them and all arrangements seem... More

I stay at alot of hotels and most are indistinguishable from each other. This is a small hotel in a little town that is definitely unique. It is in a old building that has been redone. If you get there early, they have all the doors to the vacant rooms open so you can go and see the decor in... More

Definitely get a room overlooking the trains and river. You will hear the 83 trains a day, but for some reason, they didn't seem to wake us up at night. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts are wonderful. We were there for 5 nights and every breakfast had a different hot entree -- the cinnamon French... More

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Kingsley Inn. This is a really nice hotel, with a wide variety of different rooms with different decors and amenities. The website shows each room and describes the room in detail, so you can pick what you want before you go. The hotel has an attached restaurant, Alpha's on the... More

Stayed in a room overlooking the river and the train tracks. It was relaxing to sit with a glass of wine and watch the river and trains roll by. Well done renovation in a great setting. Convenient to have breakfast on the premises and nice to have included with the room rate. Staff was pleasant and helpful. More

Get one of the rooms overlooking the mighty Mississippi and the reconstructed old fort. This is an unforgettable sight and worth it. If you do, of course, you should know that there are some 50+ trains per day (and night) passing in front of your window. However the windows have been cleverly equipped with a heavy sheet layer of Lexan/Acrylic... More

We came in on Amtrak and they picked us up at the station. We were able to check in early and found we had a wonderful room with a river view and a wonderful time. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, it was like having high tea. They gave us another room to use while we waited on Amtrak... More

We liked everything about this inn ... elegant decor, friendly host, hopping bar, comfortable bed, great shower, great breakfast, nice views of the fort, the river, and the trains, etc. We were awakened in the early morning by an intense thunderstorm (and, of course, the trains), but we LOVED IT!
