We stayed for a family reunion in area. Staff was great and very accommodating. Pillows were lumpy and hard, so take your own. We took our 2 dogs and they were very attentive to our needs where they were concerned. Breakfast was pretty decent. We would stay here again.

I guess I have to remember that there isn’t much to choose from in Paola KS…with that being said- this was sub standard for the price or $135. The most annoying thing was no hot water at 5am. It was lukewarm at best. Breakfast was pop tarts, hostess donuts and mini cereal boxes. The television in my room seemed like a large computer screen and not a hotel TV. Room doors are on a spring and slam constantly. Bed was reasonably comfortable and the staff was nice. I would definitely drive a bit farther to stay in a better hotel for the price.

We have stayed here several times over the years. Saying that we were shocked and disappointed on this stay is an understatement. I don’t know if there was a management change or what but it had gone downhill significantly. It was is dire need of a deep cleaning and interior painting. Breakfast was ok...

Was in town for a business thing and needed just one night. Online pricing was all over the place from $129 to $85. I’ll get to value in a minute. Our room was the first one on the ground floor right around the corner from the front desk. A bit loud, but I guess since we paid “the least” posted rate, we got a comparable room. Still, room in general, was clean. TV channel list boasted of channels our TV didn’t get. Watched our weekly shows on our tablets. The bed was average in comfort but the pillows were small and “cotton candy” fluffy. Glad I had my own. The following morning, breakfast was prepackaged sweet rolls and yogurt, I get this because COVID. What was a surprise was watching a young boy put his fingers in his mouth and then use the mouse for the computer in the lobby. He appears to belong to one of the ladies behind the check in desk from what I observed. We were in the breakfast space for maybe 30 minutes and I didn’t see anyone wipe down the computer/mouse workspace. Just an observation because, you know, COVID. The bathroom was clean with the exception of the vent, it hadn’t been dusted/cleaned in quite some time. A black washcloth was on the counter with a laminated note to use for makeup and a red towel was on the counter to be used for spills. There was also mention of brown towels but I didn’t see brown towels. We did have cream colored washcloths for bathing, they looked more like dirty white washcloths but, generally, a clean space. Lastly, and here’s where “you get what you pay for” comes in, three walls had cracks nearly all the way across. Aesthetically, this was a hard pill to swallow for $90+. Pictures included so you can be aware. Enlarge them for better viewing. I wish I could give this place a better rating because the people were nice but our room wasn’t worthy of more than a “2 star”

I have mixed feelings about this place because the staff is so considerate and nice and the rooms were immaculate right down to the air conditioning filters. I would not hesitate to stay again. The breakfast was not what they usually serve due to Covid-19. They did keep a cooler of complimentary water in the hotel eating area for guests. It was appreciated. The room where they have workout equipment was being used as a storage room with extra foldaway cots. They have a nice outdoor pool but it they have a run down, out of order hot tub on the premises that was unsightly. There was one picnic table and then another small square table and maybe 10 chairs. There was one small roofed area for shade. They need furniture and umbrellas for guests to be comfortable. The towels were ample and soft but the bedding fell short. It was clean and fresh, but only had 2 small pillows per bed a thin blanket in a white duvet. I asked for more and was accommodated. It looks like it was a chain that was bought by an independent operator.

First off...the room was nice...absolutely no problem with anything there. Nice bed...walk in shower...refrigerator...all good. What became a nightmare was other issues... Apparently the room next door to us was "rented" for some sort of a party...loud... drinking...laughing. No problem...except it kept going on 'til 12:50 a.m. Our room and theirs had a shared "door" that we'd locked on our side. As the evening wore on, someone from their party tried 3 separate times to open it up. As you could imagine, we not only couldn't sleep...but was starting to freak out. We finally had enough... called the front desk and demanded something happen or we'd call the police. It finally ended. Then there was the wi-fi...it was working...it was not...reset...working...not...reset... And for breakfast...the eggs were cold...sausage frozen...all stacked like dominos... end up...they ran out of water for tea...the attendant said sorry...and sat in the lobby texting on her phone! We rejoiced the day we left...our nightmare was over.

Place was clean. My room was very comfortable. There were some very minor things but it did not negatively affect my stay. It was mostly quiet except I would hear the people(children perhaps) in the room above me but it wasn't an issue. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate. Overall it was a pleasant place to stay.

We have stayed here during the Roots festival every year since they have opened. Always enjoy our stay. Don't use the pool or the breakfast bar but do enjoy the fridge/freezer and microwave. The staff is always very friendly.
