We spent one night at Pennyrile. the view of the lake was beautiful from our balcony. The food in the dining room was excellent although the service was slow. We hiked the Indian Bluff Trail and part of the Pennyrile Nature Trail. There were beautiful dry bluffs and boulders.

Guests are allowed to feed the animals outside their rooms which lead to my husband being greeted by a raccoon in the middle of the afternoon on the way to the room.
