We loved it for the area this is a prime location, wonderful setting, backs onto a golfcourse. Old southern charm, beautifully decorated and Dixie the owner/manager is a delight!!. In town looking after family so this was a wonderful retreat to come home too! This will be our place to stay when we come to town. .
Smokey Creek was known to locals as the Vertrees Young house (he was the longtime head of the Gaylord Container Corporation local paper mill). Current owners, local attorney and wife, have spruced up the place. Gardens are lovely and recovered from Katrina. Interior of the 1930s-ish substantial home has been up-dated as to baths, kitchen, central air and heat, etc....
