Amazing jewel in rural Nova Scotia. As locals we recently became aware of this special place. As vegetarians the menu was exceptional, with wild mushrooms and flavours to delight all palates . We took a chance on Trout Point during a snowstorm and came away all smiles. The place is absolutely gorgeous during winter--if there is snow. Rooms were cozy, especially with a nice woodstove in the room. Staff were really friendly, kept fires going in the great room, and attended to our every whim. This lodge provided the respite we really needed after a hectic several weeks of work. I slept better than I have in years! This is a 5-star joint but rustic and unpretentious--staff aremostly locals, but really helpful. We plan to return when next in Nova Scotia!

Fantastc lodge set up in the wilderness. The team take special care of their guests and nothing is too much trouble. The rustc hot tub and sauna are a must. However, just to chill and sit and read in the great outdoors or next to a roaring fire it is anyone‘s idyllic location.

A grand lodge run on a youth hostel budget. From the never manned front desk to the dead flowers in plastic pots to the supermarket tag (Loblaws) no one cared enough to snip off the lounge pillow, past the sauna door that does not close to the life jackets black with grime next to the nail in the deck--the place...
