Charming and wonderful. My husband and I felt like we were living in the fifties and I mean this in the best way possible. We had cabin 9, which is made up of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. There’s a fireplace in one of the bedrooms that I would have loved to use but, alas, the temperatures were in the high eighties! Speaking of that, there was a very modern ductless air conditioner in the kitchen that cooked the place down quite nicely. The place was clean, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is the water pressure in the shower wasn’t very good. I wish I could give 4.5. All in all, I can’t wait to stay there again next time we’re in Maine!

This place is awesome, located near Freeport but in a remote location. We only spent 1 night passing through, but would have easily enjoyed spending more nights. The cabin was clean, and totaling enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. It was exactly what we wanted as I would much rather stay in a place like this than a hotel. The location is perfect as it is only minutes from downtown Freeport. Our room has A/C, a fireplace (wood was provided), a fridge, microwave and hot plates. The only slight issue I had was there was some cobwebs in the corner of the rooms that could have been cleaned but other than that it was great! We talked with two different people that we’re working in the office and both were very nice and helpful.

Step back in time to the 1940’s and relax amongst trees on the front porch of your Maine cabin. Stephen King loves Maine motor courts, but nothing scary about this place. It really felt like time travel, and do much so we did not turn on the TV. Did not want TV. When I sat on the porch drinking my sweet tea and reading my book, the cares of that stinking interstate just melted away. Our cabin had a kitchen and eating area in addition to two comfortable beds. It was clean. It reminded me of those cabins in Dirty Dancing but bigger. My only regret is that I could not stay another day. But I’ll be back.

So I *wanted* to stay at motor courts on our trip through Maine and into New Brunswick. I have certainly stayed at many before and found most of them far superior to proper hotels. This one is a good setting and cute structure. But the mattress is very old and the kitchen was supplied with very little -- paper cups and a hotplate. That's about it. Not even a bottle opener. (And in fact, when I called the front desk to ask about a bottle opener, he said he hadn't seen one on the premises for over two years.) The fridge was a lifesaver, though. Might recommend for someone who had never stayed at such a venue. But I was a little disappointed. (Side note - firewood was supplied, but no matches and no instructions on if the flue was already open.)

This was a bit rough. The bed was HORRIBLE!! They know this because there is a cheap foam pad on top of the mattress. The mattresses are ancient. Cabin #18 was very old, not quaint. Spiders everywhere, old webs not cleaned between wall and items in the room...don't drop anything and you won't see it. Website said A/C in every cabin. It was a LIE, no A/C!! Left the windows open at night with the 2 table fans they gave us...listed to the 295 all night. You are sleeping right next to the 295. The table had the only available flat surface in the room and it had two fans on it. The shower was a small square with a shower curtain on two sides that stuck to you the whole time you are showering, no vent/fan in bathroom. The weirdest thing is that the bathroom sink water smelled like an ash tray, not the shower just the sink. Didn't expect luxury for the price but did expect it to live up to the write up on the website. The patio "furniture" and picnic table in front of the cabin was filthy. Bring cleaning supplies if you want to use it. Won't return...really wanted to like it. Wanted a place that was inexpensive but comfortable to come back to in the future. Will keep looking.

It’s not the Hilton, if you need “Hotel” accommodations, this isn’t for you. It is however a charming Motor Court in the finest tradition of travel the way it used to be before Interstates. Think of it as a small set catering cabin, and you’ll be better prepared for the experience. The missus and I stayed 2 nights while visiting some family nearby. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the kitchen provided everything we needed to make ourselves breakfast in the mornings. Wi-Fi would have been convenient but honestly, as close as we were to Freeport the cell service was 5x5, so we made do without for a couple of days. Really, the place is ideal for a multitude of traveler types, if you know rustic ain’t you, drive on by.

When we arrived at 6:15pm, the office was locked and empty with a ‘be back in 10 minute’ sign but no time as to when it was written. Young man finally showed up and Told us that the key was in door of our cabin 17. No key. Returned to office. Given a key. Opened door to 17…found room filled with baggage and food from someone else. Returned to office asked for manager or owner. Had to wait 20 minutes. We had been driving for 4 hours and needed to use bathroom while we waited. Were allowed to use facilities in cabin 20 which we were told had been cleaned. Cabin smelled really bad. Owner?, Dave, finally got there, issued refund after we said that we needed to find another place for the night. He was unable to explain why someone else was in the cabin assigned to us.

We stayed overnight for the Oyster Festival in Freeport. This spot is about a 5 minute drive to LLBean in downtown Freeport. It is a quiet and beautiful setting, though there is the white noise of the highway when you sit on your own porch in their rocking chair! The kitchen is basic, with only a bar fridge, but it worked for what we wanted it for. The bathroom was small, but still easily accessible. The 2 double beds were very, very comfortable and the flat screen tv had enough channels to be useful. Given the heat of the day, we were very happy to have the above door a/c work so well and so quietly. We felt right at home sitting on the porch at days end. This was a gem that we will return to when we are back in the area .

Our family stayed in cottage 4. Check in was quick. However, upon arrival to our cottage, we found a dirty towel under one of the beds along with lots of pet hair and a dirty stuffed animal. It was very gross and made the whole place feel dirty. Bed was comfy and cabin was sufficient otherwise. If you have a bunch of coffee drinkers maybe bring you’re own coffee pot or plan on grabbing coffee on the go. This had a tiny little singe brew coffee maker that wasn’t worth the time or hassle with 4 of us drinking coffee. If this place was cleaned properly and given a little TLC (fresh coat of paint in bathroom, a decent coffee maker, and better door knobs that don’t get stuck) it could be a great and charming little place to stay.
