Stayed here with my wife on the way to quebec off-season and was pleasantly surprised. The hosts are very friendly (sent me back to my room with AMAZING chocolate brownies). Can't say enough about how welcome we felt.

Amy and John are doing all the right things to make Captain Sawyer House a great B&B. Both are very personable, helpful and caring. Good recomendations for eats and local trips. Location is fantastic, close to everything. Forget about any reviews before 2012, its a different place now!

John & Amy are wonderful. We made the reservation in February (Amy was sanding the floor). We were looking for a place to stay close to the Rally events and close to the Resturants and Bars so when we were done riding for the day we could walk to everything. In July when we got there, we meet John (walking... More

Stayed there with our 2 kids for one night and we were fully satisfied. It starts while booking as John and Amy are very gentle and helpful at that time. We got a very large room at ground floor and we 4 could stay very well. It was well and nicely furnished, clean and with a confortable bathroom. Wifi is... More

This B&B is under new management and it is obvious that John & Amy have done a lot of work to bring the property up to a high standard. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. Amy is a fantastic cook! John & Amy are great hosts and we spent an extremely enjoyable afternoon sitting out on the porch... More

This place was INCREDIABLE!!! John & Amy were the best hosts - they had lots of suggestions on things to do and see while in Moosehead Lake. We were traveling with our daughters, 9 & 7 and they were able to provide us with two rooms that connected to one bathroom. It was great to have a hot home cook... More

It is always a bonus when you are pleasantly surprised and your expectations are exceeded. That is exactly what happened to my wife and I at the Captain Sawyer House recently. First, let me just say do not read any reviews that are more than a year previous to this one. This B&B is under new ownership and any old... More

This is the classic B&B experience - Nineteenth restored village home, front porch looking out over the lake, newly decorated, very clean room with own bath, really good breakfast, great hosts with lots of suggestions for activities - and the wonderful option on a rainy night of dining on the premises in their brand new and very charming pub. Oh,... More

We had stayed here a couple of years ago, and it was bad. But we loved the view and location. We found out the place was under NEW OWNERSHIP so we figured we would give it another try. The rooms were ALL redone. Everything was spotless! The new owners were super helpful. It was an amazing home style bed and... More

told to be the cheapest option in greenville, the place is not a palace but it's not a bad option for a night. rooms are cute with wall to wall carpets. carpets, though, are a minus, apparently, since their not as easy to clean as a floor. the room seemed a little bit worn out... owner was pleasant and cooked...
