This inn is at the bottom of Schoodic Peninsula near Corea and Winter Harbor - both of the "if you blink you´ll miss it variety" - about an hour drive from Bar Harbor so it´s a great place to get away from it all. There are a few good places to eat nearby and lots of nature to savor. The... More

We are home in New Jersey now but one of the highlights of our Maine summer was a trip to Winter Harbor and the surrounding area. This is not the first time that we have stayed at Oceanside Meadows in Prospect Harbor. (3rd time) This year we took our granddaughter Ava, (14) with us and I believe that this was... More

I fell in love with this B&B the moment I saw it. We spent two nights in a third-floor room in the Captain's House and had the most amazing visit. The room was incredibly comfortable, service was above and beyond what was expected (thank you, Margaret!), and breakfast was a 3-course gourmet delight! I would have stayed much longer if... More

A remote location that is great for people who want a very undisturbed stay in the Acadia area. It could almost be a retreat of sorts, providing an opportunity for quiet walks and contemplation.. The old buildings are appealing, but any movement is noisy and "creeky." Room and bathroom were adequate, but not "charming.". Margaret was wonderful in orienting us... More

Well, not sure what the negative review people were expecting but I have found that this Inn as well as the staff AND owners are exceptional! I have stayed at the Inn in the Farmhouse three times and each visit has been comfortable, clean and kind of like staying at home. No, this is NOT the Hilton or Hyatt in... More

My husband and I loved this place! We stayed 2 nights so next year we will be staying longer. We stayed in room 8 very clean and spacious. When we checked in the lady was very helpful. She give us guided maps for the area and talked about the grounds . The restaurants she recomended were fabulous. The breakfasts at... More

We loved every minute of our stay at Oceanside Meadows. The food was wonderful and the people were charming and attentive. We will go back again and again as we could never get enough of this B&B. Thanks to everyone who made this trip so memorable and fantastic! This one is a must-see and must-stay.

This place was a big disappointment - first of all, the woman that checked us in insisted that we all four sit down in the parlor and hear her thirty minute presentation of the area. Complete with handouts. She took up our valuable time tediously turning pages in a book and showing us pictures. We thought we would never get... More

My husband and I have been staying a few nights each summer at Oceanside Meadows for eight years. Our most recent stay was in mid August. Each year we have tried a different room either in the captain's house or the farmhouse. Our longest stay was in July 2005 when we booked the entire inn for our daughter's wedding. It's... More

If you're looking for an asbolute, complete escape from civilization (no cell connection, internet, TV) this is the place. This B&B falls extremely short of being anything close to the description in the advertisement! The building is old and shabby and not at all what the picture shows. We rode past the place several times looking for "the real thing".... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Greetings! I, Ben, and my wife, Sonja, would like to welcome you to Acadia's Oceanside Meadows Inn. We encourage you to discover the serenity and hospitality of Schoodic Peninsula, located in the heart of beautiful Downeast Maine. The buildings of our Inn stand on 200 acres at the head of Sand Cove in picturesque Prospect Harbor. At Oceanside Meadows we have two very specific goals: to ensure that you have an extraordinary experience staying at our historic inn and to introduce you to our ever-evolving 200 acre nature preserve. Explore our sandy beach, rocky shore, dunes, meadows, forest, ponds, streams, and pristine salt marsh environments, which offer a great diversity of habitats and wildlife. My wife and I, who have a background in science and conservation, are committed to the preservation of this extraordinary place. Oceanside Meadows marries all that you would expect from a historic inn that has been open since 1860 with an unparalleled opportunity to explore and to understand Maine's environment and natural splendor. We invite you to join us here for a relaxing respite on the ocean. Be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf on our private sandy beach. Individually appointed bedrooms are lavishly furnished with your comfort in mind. Our rooms feature ocean and meadow views, private baths, flowers from the garden, and the refreshing sea breeze. Enjoy hearty gourmet breakfasts in our gracious dining room as you watch the lobster boats ply the Atlantic just yards away. Feast on wild blueberry pancakes, specialty omelets, homemade breads and other delights. We are glad to cater to vegetarian and other dietary needs. Our unique sandy beach is a great place to have a picnic, to lie in the sun or to take a dip in the brisk Atlantic. Explore the rugged coastline, tidal pools, and lighthouses; spot an eagle or osprey overhead; try sea kayaking, yachting, fresh water canoeing. Head out on a real Maine Lobster boat, see the seals basking in the sun, whales breaching, the puffins at Petit Manan Light, on your way back in to the dock pull lobster traps, truly immersing in the real wonders of the Downeast Maine coast. Try the trails of Acadia National Park at Schoodic 5 mins away or our own just behind the Inn. ... more   less
