Although we took a round about way to get to the hotel it is on a main street leading into Hagerstown. The hotel room was clean as was the hotel overall. Very friendly staff who know the area if you have questions. We were on the ground (really the basement) as we had a dog but easy in and out to our vehicle. There is plenty of parking. Within walking distance of different restaurants and shops. The only negatives were the shower was kind of hard to figure out, the guest laundry wasn't in operation and neither was the pool.

Hotel's Favourite
This is great choice for a visit to Hagerstown. We stayed many times in the Hampton Inn across the street, but they are now way more expensive. Our room was quite large, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast is bare bones, and the bathroom light is connected a fan so you can't have one without the other - very annoying. Overall, however, we enjoyed our three nights stay very much.

Staff extremelly friendly. We could visit all the best spots in town walking. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, bathroom a bit small but very functional. Perfect for a weekend trip.

Stayed here one night on our way back from Tennessee. Room was spotless, breakfast offered many choices, and the front desk personnel were wonderful. If we are ever back in this area again, we will be sure to stay at this hotel.

On our trip through the Appalachians, of four different Comfort Inns, this was the worst one. Cleanliness/bed sheets smelly and "old" bathroom needs renovation, A/C unit loud. Breakfast was the worst of those hotels.

Just wanted to give a shot out to Lucy on night audit. She was an amazing hostess. She took great care of us as soon as we arrived and throughout the night. Great advice and service. Very funny and professional all in one. Made our stay one of the best experiences woth hotel travel. The room and hotel overall was very clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the decor. As an employee of another comfort suites I’m very critical of my stays but I have nothing negative to say here. If I had to make any suggestions.. some options for nutrition needs at breakfast. But please don’t take that as a negative. Thanks for the great time. Will recommend to anyone and will stay there again on our multiple trips to Ohio in future.

We have spent 38 nights in hotels in the last 20 months, and Comfort Suites Hagerstown was the worst. Somehow, we ended up in a room that was in an alcove with the ice machine and an empty snack machine, right next to the elevator. At check-in, they said I picked "Business King. I have been back on their website through every possible browser and can't find business king. If it weren't for the front desk associate Christine, I would have walked out. She was so kind and helpful. There were no other rooms to move to as there was a softball tournament that weekend. The room is at least 6 feet shorter than a regular room due to being in that alcove. The room was in very poor condition. Looked like a last resort room. The next morning, we saw the owners and housekeeping staff. Staff supervisors were speaking in another language and were being nasty to the housekeepers. We were only greater by 1 person asking if we were checking out that morning. Everyone else ignored us and all other guests. The breakfast looks NOTHING like the pictures. No protein other than tiny cartons of yogurt. We had cinnamon waffles that were good, and the coffee was good. The rest was all carbs. I would never recommend this hotel, and it is all because the owners must not think it is important to keep their hotel up to normal standards.

Nothing special. Check in went quickly, room was clean. Breakfast was a bit disappointing with cereal and packaged food. Convenient to local restaurants and businesses. Easy to get to. Used this a based to visit Antietam battlefield and other area sites.

Comfort Suites Hagerstown Instead of Comfort Suites, stay at nearby Hampton Inn instead for professional & friendly check/in. 882102330 At check-in a customer’s dog, on a LONG full-out leash!, jumped on us. The man did not apologize, nor did the woman checking us in! (Nor did she ask he man to keep his dog on a short leash in a public space.) When we politely expressed our dis-pleasure she immediately became defensive & kept repeating “USUALLY it is on a short leash”. Rather than risk further dog ‘attacks’ or her arrogant & un-professional customer approach we cancelled our reservation & stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn, which was an absolutely delightful check-in/stay.

Response from Comfort Suites, Sales at Comfort Suites
Responded Mar 17, 2023
If you are going to post a negative review you should be honest about what really happened. We reviewed the camera footage and this is what we saw and heard: First, the dog never jumped on you. The guest came around the corner with the dog (on a leash) and as soon as he saw you he pulled the dog back. He can be heard VERY CLEARLY apologizing to you for startling you. The desk clerk can also be heard apologizing and assuring you that the dog is a puppy and doesn't mean any harm. We understand that you were afraid of the dog and we are sorry that this happened but the dog didn't attack you. The desk clerk could have handled the situation differently and I will discuss this with her. She appears to get upset after you refered to her as a b**** to your husband.

The hotel was clean. The prices we ok. In the bathroom, there is no towel rack to hang damp towels on. I did mention this to the front desk clerk, and the reply was that Choice Hotels changed their bathroom towel racks to art. There is no functional reason to hang art in the bathroom and leave no place for guest to hang their towels. Breakfast was a joke. There were mini waffles and microwaveable burritos, but that was the extent of the warm breakfast selections. We stayed four nights, and it was either a JimmyDean sausage and egg mini croissant or a small turkey sausage and egg burrito. The alarm clock in the room was broken (could not even set the time). We had a room with a sofa, but the TV is stationary positioned in front of the bed. The location is good, but you have to be driving south on highway 40 to get to it, and all turns out of the hotel are right turn only. We will not go back to this hotel.
