Very nice place to stay. It is quite pricy, but worth staying there at least one night. I absolutely love the historic charm of the hotel and the island. Its my fave place in MI! :) More

Have you ever been to a hotel that takes your breath away when you see it? Well this is what happened to me when I first saw the Grand Hotel. I was on the ferry to Mackinac Island when I first caught a glimpse. You can see it from so far away on the ferry because it is so large... More

The Grand Hotel is a beautiful property, and takes you back in time to a more elegant era. We found everything to be charming at this hotel. We had afternoon tea, which is not included in the rate for staying at the hotel, but it is well worth the extra charge. The porch is comfortable and inviting for reading, or... More

My husband, 1-year-old daughter, and extended family came to the Grand Hotel in the spring of 2011. We had a wonderful time. There were 5 rooms between us, and they were all decorated differently, which was very unique and neat! The hotel is "old world" luxury with tons of character and charm, and excellent service. Everyone was so attentive, and... More

This is the second Jazz Festival we've attended at the Grand Hotel. There are lots of places we could travel to, we own a Diamond Resorts timeshare, but not too many destinations will offer us such memories of a lifetime as the Grand Hotel's Jazz Festival. The first time, I didn't realize that we could eat at a few of... More

Our Labor Day Jazz Festival has been one of our most popular weekends for many years. We are so pleased you have enjoyed two now as each year is a bit different. We look forward to having you back each season, becoming part of the Grand Hotel extended family. More

We loved the wonderful ambience and great service provided by the Grand Hotel. Its location makes it so convenient for exploring the island and its attractions. It was fun dressing up a bit for dinner and then being treated so royally. Good choices for dinner and great breakfast buffet. Rooms are on the smaller side but lovely and well-kept. A... More

The Grand Hotel is an experience! It's really neat to "go back in time." Most people know what they are in for when they go here, and we did too, but if you are used to having space for your family to spread out you are out of luck. The hotel was built in the 1800s when they didn't have... More

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you felt the room you were in was a bit too small. Every room in our hotel is laid out differently and the sizes are not the same. Generally, with a larger family group we do attempt to put them in a more spacious room. It does not sound like this... More

Ever since I watched the movie " Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, a visit to the Grand Hotel has been on my bucket list. We found ourselves camping in Michigan this summer and knew we had to make a detour to fulfill this wish. When we checked out the rates ($400 a night) I thought we'd... More

Previously stayed at the Grand Hotel back in the early 80's. At that time it was a fabulous experience. This time was not so good. Our agent got us into the hotel but in the lowest class room - never again. We were right next to the internal stairwell and one of the major water pipes came through the top... More

Each summer my husband and I visit the Grand Hotel with a group of friends. We golf, wander the magnificently manicured gardens, eat wonderful breakfasts and spectacular five-course dinners, dance in the ballroom, have a drink and drink in the magnificent views from the cupola, and bike the whole island every day. The staff at the Grand are accommodating, friendly,... More
