Because it is right on Lake Huron, the hotel is perfectly sited. Rooms are comfortable but had difficulties with aged fittings. Breakfast room is not alluring to an Australian visitor. Lots of parking and very convent to ferry for Mackknaw Island

This place is a basic hotel. The beds are pretty poor by today's standards. The view is nill. You can walk to downtown but feel apart from it. No lake views. Close to fort. There's a decent restaurant right across the street.
