We had a most delightful stay at the Sofitel, Bloomington. Because we booked a 4 star hotel in the area on hotwire, we were very pleasantly surprized to discover that it was the Sofitel, for years the premier hotel in the area. It lived up to its reputation in terms of friendliness of staff, appointments, and overall experience. more

The staff are welcoming and gracious. The room so beautiful and cozy. Clean, feels new and fresh, makes you want to stay forever. I would recommend the Sofitel to everyone without hesitation. more

Service - lousy. Personnel - surly bordered on rude. Managers on duty were worthless when we complained. food @ evening meal (6 adults, 2 children) was mediocre and terribly overpriced. Waiter was flippant. Part of our group was vegetarian, and when they declared such, he said "sorry, we don't serve vegetarians" as a lame joke???. Menu was not vegetarian friendly.... more

Sofitel bills itself as a luxury hotel, but it is not on par with the Marquette, Ritz or even Intercontinental. In fact it wasn't much better than a Marriott. The price was reasonable especially with a special credit offered when I called after making reservations online. The restaurant Chez Colette was being remodeled so they offered the same menu in... more

This is an upscale hotel in which the staff does there best to make you feel at home. As we were standing and admiring the lobby area, two staff approached us to see if there was anything that we needed. The bellhop was very professional. The rooms are beautiful and quite large. The beds were comfy and the bathroom nicely... more

My wife and I have stayed several times at this Sofitel in Minneapolis. I don't think the hotel compares favorably with the outstanding Sofitels in NYC or London. That said, we will definitely stay here again. The pros: First, location. We like to visit relatives in Edina, so the hotel is very close. (Only the Westin at Southdale would be... more

We stayed at the Sofitel the night before flying out of MSP to Cancun for a week of sun and fun. We love staying at the Sofitel before flying anywhere because it really sets the tone for a relaxing vacation. We had an upgraded suite - large, comfortable, and beautiful. It had the swivel flat screen so that you could... more

Unsure where to stay during our first visit to Minneapolis, my partner and I guessed that Bloomington would be a good choice for our 4-night stay (easy freeway access, relatively close to the Mall of America) and booked with Hotwire; we received the Sofitel for $63/night (plus tax) for a standard room with either 2 double beds or 1 king... more

We stayed here for a weekend away for our anniversary! I would highly recommend the I love chocolate special. You get a 3 night stay, plus breakfast and an complimentary dessert for a nice low price. The breakfast is amazing... loved the eggs benedict! The complimentary dessert was out of this world. When we went to retrive the chocolate snack,... more
