Our family (6 people, 4 dogs!) traveled to Ely over Christmas break to go sled dogging. We chose to stay two nights at Northern Lights Lodge because it is pet-friendly and has stellar reviews. We were not disappointed! Absolutely loved Northern Lights Lodge! We stayed in two suites and both were squeaky clean with fabulous winter views of the lake.... More

We traveled up to Ely to enjoy a couple of nights away from the cities with our boys. No phones, laptops or technology. From the moment I scheduled the get-away with Marie, I felt drawn to Northern Lights. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by Marie, the dogs, and the other lodgers. Our boys took a liking to... More

Excellent stay at Northern Lights Lodge. This time we stayed in one of the 1 bedroom suites. It was perfect in every way and we even got to see the aurora borealis twice! I can't speak highly enough of the resort. Last time we stayed in one of the classic cabins and this week we tried one of the suites.... More

We stayed here in suite #7 for one evening only trying the different lodging up in the boundary waters for future vacations. We are a couple in our upper 20's with a small yorkie that we brought up from the Twin Cities area. Pets are not only allowed, but also welcomed. We got to know the two dogs of the... More

Found Northern Lights Lodge as a last minute escape. Was hoping things would be as good as the seemed on their web site... turns out it was better than I could have imagined. Lots of open space, Beautiful scenery, friendly owners who made sure everything was right. We didn't rent a full cabin but instead chose one of their suites.... More

We stayed in cabins 11 and 12 in June of this year for a family reunion. We had 11 people total and were very comfortable in the cabins. The location is beautiful, cabins were very nice, lake was gorgeous. We were too early in the year for swimming but went out on the lake in the motorboat and kayaks. We... More

What a delightful resort! We stayed with our two children and had a fantastic week. The resort is set on a beautiful lake, is very well equipped, and is a good value. Perhaps the highlight of our stay was the three amazing doggies, Pepper, the gentle giant, Goldy, the aging sweetie pie, and the divine Daisy, who is both the... More

We were a group of 5 grad students from U of M, Minneapolis, looking for a weekend getaway after a hectic Spring semester. We spent 2 nights at Norther Lights and it was an awesome experience. Our cabin was very spacious with all required amenities and the sauna was a blessing after swimming in the cold lake. The lodge has... More

This was our first time at Northern Lights Lodge. We stayed June 1-5, 2010. This place was beyond what I expected. As soon as you step out of your vehicle you smell pine trees. We stayed in Cabin 4. It was spotless and smelled like cedar the minute we walked in. I loved the knotty pine walls and nice furnishings... More

We returned to Northern Lights Lodge for the Minnesota Fishing Opener. The weather was fantastic so there was no way we could stay away from our favorite Ely resort. The fishing was great first thing in the morning. We tried a new cabin this time, cabin #4 and loved its classic feel. As always the cabin was well stocked and... More
