We had a wonderful time at Gobbler's Mountain Resort! We were there several years ago and decided it was time for a trip back. The cabins have all been upgraded and we had everything we needed for a fun family time at the lake before school starts. The cabins are quite nice now compared to what they were several years ago. The new, super nice owners have done a great job with the resort. Cabin 5 has a great view of the lake (fun to watch the thunderstorm come in!) The two bedroom cabin had plenty of room for my daughter and her 3 kids. We are already planning our trip back next year!

We made online reservations only to be called 3 days later to be told that our room was given someone else that made reservations yesterday. I offered proof and the owners still cancelled my reservation.

Property is right on the water. Nice view. Dock has 2 porch swings and it was very relaxing sitting there and gazing at the lake. No green space though and if you enjoy sitting outside and enjoying the view, you can't do it here. If you plan to cook breakfast, BRING YOUR OWN SKILLET. I prepared bacon and eggs and both stuck to the skillet. The cabin comes with bedding but the sheets do not stay on the bed and are very thin and are of poor quality. By the middle of the night the sheets are balled up in the middle of the bed and you are sleeping on a plastic mattress cover. I'm not a sheet snob but these sheets are awful. If you have allergies, cabin 2 smells very musty in the bedroom like it had water damage. The carpet needs to be replaced. Lastly the resort says they have Wifi. It does if you don't mind sitting on the porch outside of the office. All in all it was a nice stay. The owners are friendly. I wish I would have shopped around more though. I'm not familiar with the area so I jumped on the first place I found.

This little resort is a hidden gem on the shores of Table Rock Lake just outside of Kimberling City, Mo. I stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was so relaxing. The 1 Bedroom cabin has a pull out sofa bed and the cabin is like a small efficiency apt. The water was always hot and the window air unit worked perfectly to keep the cabin cool. There are 10 (I think) total cabins all facing the lake with beautiful views. There is a boat dock on the property where you can swim, catch some sun or rent a boat for some lake fun. There is a pool (8 ft deep on the deep end) that is enclosed by chain link fence for child safety, but you can see the lake view from the pool, although the pool chairs were scarce and need to be replaced. Not a big deal, as you can lay your towel along the edge and get some sun. The pool is open all night as long as you don't disturb anyone and keep it quiet. The owner (Rob) is very nice and very accommodating to whatever you may need. This is not an upscale posh resort, so if you are looking for white, plush matching towels and Egyptian Cotton sheets, then you will not fit in at this resort (which is why I love this place! ) This is a laid back, relaxation resort for fishermen, families, and people who just need to get away for a few days and relax. The towels don't match, the shower head is a bass head (lol) and that's what makes this place a treasure! It's about 25-30 minutes to Branson so close enough to jump into town and have some fun. The resort is at the bottom of a mountain, so be aware of you have walking issues. I love this place and would definitely stay here again. ♡

This is a very clean, nicely run resort. Rob, Kim, Alan, and Jenny were all very personable, and helpful throughout our stay! It's like staying with family (that you like). The cabin was very clean, and had beautiful views of the lake. We had a bass boat in one of their slips, and even rented a pontoon boat from them. The pontoon was cleaned that morning so it was very clean - and it ran like a top. You won't find a better location, or nicer people on the lake!

We got a cabin there with our 18m/o daughter. It was our first family trip together and it was absolutely perfect. Had everything we needed. The enclosed back porch was awesome for having dinner outside with a gorgeous view of the lake!! (By the way the lake is stunning!) We rented a boat for one afternoon and it was great to get a chance to scope out everything! It's located 15 min away from town so if you need things for cooking out its super easy!! The cabins were clean and honestly I couldn't be happier about how our experience went even if it did rain but rain is awesome too!!! :) Totally would book again!!

We stayed at this resort in late June, for a weekend trip with our boat. We were ecstatic to see that this resort allowed pets, and looked forward to a relaxing weekend with our boat. We knew that this resort wasn't luxury, and we didn't expect that when we checked in. We were looking for clean and simple. The resort is tricky to find especially after dark-but the owners did tell us that when we made the reservation. Parking is a little tricky, it's steep, and the resort is on a hill. You better know what you are doing backing your boat in. The road that leads to the resort is terrible, pulling a boat down this road was a white knuckle experience. We were constantly worried about popping a tire in the numerous pot holes. It's basically a one lane, if you meet another car, you have to pull off almost into the ditch. The cabin itself was small, and simple, which we knew. The night we checked in, we killed several bugs (roach like) that were running around on the tile floor. The bed was very uncomfortable, we never slept a good night there at all. There is a TV in the cabin, but it's on top of the fridge, which is a little odd. The bathroom is simple and clean. We never used the pool, it seemed small but well maintained. There are two primary reasons that I gave this resort a one star review. Number One: someone entered our cabin while we weren't there. They make you sign a piece of paper that said you agreed to the terms for staying in the cabin (including a 100 dollar cleaning fee), as well as turning off the window unit when we weren't in the unit. We did this when we went on the boat and were gone for several hours, even though it was 90 plus that day, which made the cabin stifling when we got back. We left again later in the afternoon to get some food (gone maybe an hour), and came back to the window in the bathroom being open, and the air turned off. We knew we hadn't done either of these things. It made us extremely uncomfortable, and I'm pretty sure we didn't agree to someone coming into our cabin while we were gone. I understand that they are trying to keep cost down, but when you pay for a unit that is supposed to be air conditioned, I don't except that someone is going to decide to come into our cabin and turn it off when they want to. Since we weren't gone that long, someone had to have been watching to see when we left, which just added another layer of discomfort. I was extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave, but we had already paid for the night, and just decided to leave in the morning first thing. The second reason: When we checked out of the cabin, we completed each of the items on the check list: swept the floor, picked up our dishes and washed them, and took out the trash. Because we had dogs, I went through again with the broom and dust pan that they provided, and swept again. The cabin was clean when we left. Imagine my surprise when I checked my credit card later in the week to see a 100 cleaning fee from the resort. I contacted them immediately, and spoke with a woman who explained to me in a very rude voice, that she had to sweep the cabin after we left, and got "several things of dog hair". I explained to her that we had swept the cabin, and I was confused about why I was charged. She told me that she had pictures of the hair that she had to clean up, and would happily send them to me. I provided my phone number to her, but have never received any of the pictures. I called the resort multiple times after that, leaving my information and requesting that they either call me or send me the pictures, but have not received a call back or pictures. So I was charged 100 because the resort is stating they had to sweep the floor of the cabin when we left. My advice to anyone thinking about staying here is buyer beware. IF you do decide to stay, take pictures when you check out. Know that the road to the resort is just bad, and that the resort owners are friendly when you are there, but the woman who I spoke to was absolutely nasty to me on the phone. I wouldn't stay here again, and I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone that I know to. It's definitely not somewhere that I would recommend to anybody staying with pets, especially since they seem to use that to charge you more on your credit card. I already had paid pet fees for each of the dogs, which I expected, but I guess that doesn't cover anything besides allowing them to be on the premises.
