Just spent 8 days in Tassie and had 3 nights at The Richmond Barracks. When we arrived we were greated by the delightful Liz who made our stay wonderful and who also bought us a nice breakfast basket every morning. We arrived in Tasmania and went straight to the Richmond Barracks. What a great place to stay, we stayed in the Retreat. Cosy and warm, had everything we needed. Sory we only had the one night there. Hope to go back one day in the future. Have recommended to our friends who are going over in Sept.

We stayed in the Lady Esther Cottage, sadly only for one night, at the end of our amazing Tassie holiday with another couple. The room was perfect for our needs, spotless, well equipped and exactly as described in the literature. Hosts Liz and Martin were friendly and welcoming. We had booked into Richmond for our last night purely to be... More

Another place I wished we could have stayed longer than one night. The room was clean and spacious (we stayed in The Cellar). It's in a good location off the main road but in easy walking distance of Richmond's must sees. Very friendly hosts and a very well stocked breakfast basket.

a delightful set of cottages. I can't wait for my next stay in June, and also in December. Liz and Martin were so helpful when another facility let me down. Can't praise the cottages or the service from Liz and Martin more highly every detail is meticulously taken care of, even night lights so i don't blunder about in the... More

When we arrived, the owner welcome us with a big smile. The hotel is located in the town center within walking distance to restaurant, supermarkets, candy shop, Richmond Bridge, church. The room is good and clean, very quiet at night.

We stayed here in December at the Lady Esther Cottage... Nothing else to say except immaculately clean, wonderfully furnished and equipped. There were even games for our children. After spending many nights in bed and breakfast style accommodation, this certainly outperforms most. Thanks Liz for a wonderful, friendly stay!

My family and I stayed 2 nights at the Richmond Barracks mid January. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely it is. The owners are lovely, friendly people who keep the place immaculate. Their little finishing touches, didn't go unnoticed and the trouble they have gone to make for a really enjoyable stay. I never like sleeping away from home... More

We stayed in the Lady Esther Cottage - very clean and well equipped and some nice touches too for breakfast with a variety of breads and fresh fruit. Great tips on the local attractions and restaurants - Anton's Pizza place is the spot for authentic Italian food. Highly recommended!

The best stop over we have had in Tasmania. Our room, the Cellar room was lovely, clean and fresh, with modern facilities, a flat screen TV and air con. We really appreciated the extra touches like a night light in the bathroom, tea, coffee and sugar in household containers, fresh milk, and a delicious continental breakfast hand delivered the night...
