I immediately liked my little house at Lamplighter and I plan to stay there again. The room was very clean and everything worked properly, despite the initial appearance that you are stepping back into the 1960's. The kitchenette has no pots, pans, or utensils (they said the Health Dept won't allow that) although I must say that I've had other... More

Let me start by saying we really liked the place and would come back and stay. After all the reviews, I was surprised to see a very hairy bed when I pulled back the sheets. The problem was immediately rectified by the proprietress, who explained some issues with the new maid. The bed itself was pretty squeaky/creeky and made for... More

I would suggest calling ahead to make sure you have a room--this seems to be a popular lil' spot. My sister stayed here years ago, but stopped as it became so run-down. After reading the reviews it seemed to be fixed up so I gave it a try. I enjoyed not staying in a typical motel--and loved the little cabin.... More

So we returned again to this quaint little motel. Family run and well kept. They have done some updating and it is looking great. We took a smaller room this year as there were only two of us. It had a nice little Pullman kitchenette and two queen size beds in the other room. with a coffee pot and nice... More

We were looking forward to two nights with a kitchenette because my husband loves to cook as a change from eating out. The online booking company screwed up the reservation, so we had to find other lodging for the first night. We ended up at Jorgenson’s (see separate review) which was great, but we returned to the Lamplighter for our... More

With the amount I travel I am always on the lookout for reasonably priced accommodation with a bit of character. It doesn't have to be fancy but it has to be clean, have a bed, decent shower and wifi that works. The Lamplighters met all of these requirements plus more. I arrived at the Lamplighter with my Kiwi friends after... More

Keli keeps fixing it up, cabin by cabin. So quaint, cozy and friendly. My son goes to Carroll College so it is perfect for my stay. Expecially if you would like a bigger cabin with the kitchen, need to bring your own camp box for cooking. Close to the College and on the edge of the historic beautiful homes in... More

Perfect little quirky cabins, close to downtown Helena. Check in and out was smooth and everyone is nice. We brought our dogs and they were very happy not to be in a hotel for the weekend. We came from Whitefish to bike and run in the Prickly Pear - so it was really nice to be able to bring the... More

We used the same cottage we had last year. They have done some updating and it was so nice to have a kitchenette. Coffee pot for early morning coffee and internet. I could keep in touch with work and my daughter could keep in touch with her substitute. We got the kids to Carroll college and it is just around... More

I am a retired woman and I with my daughter were taking my first grandchild to college. I found this family run motel on the internet and found it quaint and tidy and cute. We had one of the larger units as we also had my grandson with us as well. Also our 17 yr old dog. We had a... More
