We stayed in the Russell Motel for one night while on the way to Cooke City in East Yellowstone. I chose the motel based on TripAdvisor reviews but it was much less than I expected.

I agree with the other reviewer. The internet connection was great and there was lots of room. The owner seemed very nice. The TVs, bathrooms, and linens were worn, though the place was clean. Not a great neighborhood. The motels in Billings are really overpriced and this is 8 miles west of Billings at a very reasonable price.
This place was listed in the Visitor's Guide to Montana, and contrary to the cheaper and local/independent motels in Billings, was not at all scary. At under $70/night (including tax/tip, 2 beds + the $3 for very fast broadband internet), it is far better than Billings to stay in for the money. It sounds like they may offer weekly rates...
