We're a fly fishing couple who have traveled around the NW and Montana especially. We discovered the Vintage cabin and its hosts, John and Cynthia Osborn during a 3 day trip; we promptly booked 5 days for the next year and are in for a week in 2013. The setting is picture-perfect; the Vintage cabin couldn't be cozier...small but has... More

Upon arrival we were greeted by our warm and friendly hosts. When we arrived at our cabin we were wonderfully surprised by the attention to detail. You could see that comfort and amenities were at the top of our hosts list. Unparalleled views and wildlife sightings add to the wonderful ambiance of the cabin. It was a great experience and... Stayed a week at Big Trout Ranch. The large house is perfect for families, well appointed, comfortable and clean. The location between Twin Bridges and Dillon is great for fishermen and sightseers. The fishing on the ranch itself was poor. The hosts had retired to bed when we arrived at 8:30 PM. We felt like we were an inconvenience. There... More

Our stay was in the refurbished historic cabin. It is small but fully furnished, sited beautifully, and fully equipped for housekeeping. The setting could not be improved upon with game animals and birds in the fields adjacent and a spring creek at the front door. The hosts are gracious and we enjoyed a tour of the ranch and its activities.... More

Each year for the past 5 years we have organized a family fly-fishing trip centered near Dillon in southwestern Montana. The original and continuing attraction to the area was the excellent fly-fishing offered on the Beaverhead, Big Hole and other nearby rivers. What keeps us coming back, however, is the once-a-year chance for all of us to get together, catch... More

This was our second stay at Big Trout Ranch and we have stayed both times in the vintage cabin. For our needs it is perfect, and provides a sense of relaxation not easily found in todays world. The view is spectacular and the wildlife abundant. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. The location is really off the beaten path,... More

Wanted to have a trip for me, my 3 brothers, and our Dad. Settled on Montana because an old friend has guide service out there. Boy did we hit the jackpot! Brad (our guide, of Anderson & Platt Fly Fishing) recommended Big Trout. The Kamloops house was perfect for our family. We each had our own room, the kitchen was... More

Because I like all the grandeur of Montana that I can get right at my doorstep, and immaculate silence in which to enjoy it, on my fishing trips to Dillon I’ve been a repeat visitor to the Big Trout Ranch, owned and operated by the husband and wife team John and Cynthia Osborne. The Osbornes have river frontage along the... More

As a seasoned fly fisherman with over 45 years of flyfishing experience, I was fortunate to be recommended by Tim Tollett at Frontier Angler's in Dillon to fish this gorgeous ranch located about 15 miles outside of Dillon. I have had the opportunity to avail myself of the great accomodations on the Ranch to include the Vintage Log Cabin and... More
