Based on tripadvisor.com, we called ahead and booked 2 double rooms for 4 adults after a long day of driving across Iowa and Nebraska. There have been some ownership changes and the Sands is now the Hospitality Inn. From the outside it is a bit off-putting--old 2-story 60s motel with rust-stained ironwork. The rooms, however, are spacious and, after checking west side vs. east side on a hot late afternoon, selected adjacent rooms #120 and #122 on the east side. The queen beds were very comfortable with fairly new mattresses. One room had an easy chair and a desk chair, the other an easy chair and 2 arm chairs. Our room had no alarm clock. There is a central cooling system (only the room fan speed is adjustable), but we were quite comfortable. Cable TV selections are somewhat limited. No fridge or coffee-maker in rooms.
