Don't let the outside appearance discourage you. Just open your door and be very pleased. The rooms are spacious, clean, pleasantly appointed, great towels, comfy beds, great pillows, fridge/micro, easy wifi, less expensive than hotel chains, pet friendly[$15fee], courtyard parking. Enjoy!

This place is not great, but, for the price, it is clean and comfortable. It is better than it looks like from the road. The folks at the front desk are friendly and had good recommendations for places to eat.

Our Family stayed at the Thunderbird Hotel in Elko Nevada twice during November 2012 on a road trip to and from San Francisco from Colorado. My son and I just stayed at the Thunderbird Motel over the last weekend on our road trip from Denver to San Francisco. The room was perfect,nothing fancy but squeaky clean, large, 2 Queen beds and oh so quiet. We highly recommend this Motel!
