For my first time staying in the Downtown area I was very impressed with this hotel and would certainly stay again. Checking in was the fastest and most seamless process I’ve ever had in the city and there were never any queues at the reception throughout my stay. There’s plenty of lifts serving each of the floors and again I never had a wait. Although my standard room was small it was modern and spotlessly clean, clearly having recently been refitted. The lighting throughout was good, with reading lights, plenty of lamps and a ‘mood light’, plus the TV was a great size for the room. There was an ironing board in the reasonably sized wardrobe as well as a coffee machine, but the mini bar remained empty. The air-conditioning worked really well without being too noisy and sleep quality was wonderful. The only issue some people might have is noise from the street experience outside was loud, so if that’s likely to be bothersome try asking for a room furthest away. The bathroom was equally as clean and modern as the main bedroom area with a fantastic shower and wonderful soft towels. Overall it was a great value stay and I’ll certainly be considering it again next time I’m in the city.

If you are traveling with kids, this is NOT the place to go. Little did I realize when booking that the "Fremont Experience" means not getting any sleep even with ear plugs on the 14th floor facing away from Fremont St. I will NEVER stay here again. There is also quite a problem with multiple homeless people frequenting the area, including sleeping right outside of the Downtown Container park. For those who don't know, smoking indoors is still allowed in the casinos, and even on a smoke free floor, you can still smell it. Housekeeping no longer comes daily unless you ask every morning before 10am for them to clean your room, they are also supposedly phasing out the coffee makers according to one of the evening front desk staff who told me that was why my coffee was not replenished. This turned out to be a lie, at least for the time being, as she later called and said she found a couple coffees, and then two days later the housekeeper that she didn't ask to clean our room left more. For the record, the cheapest place to find coffee is McDonald's at the D, as Dunkin Donuts is over $4 just for regular brewed coffee. For fellow Canadians who are used to traveling to Vegas on the cheap, that is no longer the case. The prices of everything are astronomical, with prices being the same or more before factoring the current 40 cent exchange. Some places also insist on a credit card, which will add 3.5% more to your already inflated rates. The one good thing at the Fremont Hotel is the valet, it's included in the resort fee and the staff are all fast and friendly. For families, perhaps consider the Cancun resort by Hilton, it has a pool and is off by itself and quiet, rent a car. That said, the "time share" or vacation club or whatever they want to call it that they tell you is two hours, was 5 hours and they just didn't want to take no for an answer. The deal seemed good, but if a deal today is not good tomorrow, then frankly, I am not buying it. They seem to be confused by why a family might travel to Vegas and that the only reason we agreed to the presentation was for the $200 of free gambling vouchers. Families should check out Sky Zone- get a pass for $30 and go every day for your 2 hours. It's a good workout and lots of fun. Circus Circus also has the midway rides that were $30 for under 48 inches and $60 for above. Our kids are both under 48 inches, so they rode for several hours for $30 each. They offer a fast pass for $50, but the lineups were so insignificant that it wouldn't have been worth it. There are also hourly circus acts at Circus Circus, and parking is free. Other free parking is at Tropicana (soon to close) and Fashion Show mall.

Kevin at the front desk is awesome and superb. He was so so so kind and helpful and funny and charming. Dorie at the casino was the same. She was so so so sweet and friendly. The hotel is safe and clean and comfortable. The location is central to everything in that part of Vegas. The Fremont experience was just that. It was so fun.

My sister really wanted to stay downtown but I haven’t been a fan of area after many visits. It’s perfect for some people, but at nights it’s too sketchy for me. Maybe a lower tolerance now that I don’t drink. Anyhooo, I gave in and sis got her wish to stay downtown. The Fremont Hotel is older but the room had clearly been updated. The elevators not so much. The rooms are very similar to the size and layout of a cruise ship. Very, very small, bearable with 2 people but no more. It had a nice-sized safe and closet. Bathroom was small and did not have enough room for two guests’ toiletries. Bed was fine, as was the air-conditioning. Small fridge and coffee maker in room. We had to ask on Day 3 if we could get room service (4 night stay). Casino security does a very good job keeping out the transients at night, manning all the doors in. It felt safe enough once inside the hotel during the weekend nights, packed at Fremont Street where this hotel is located. The parking garage next to the building is for Binions. Other casinos downtown are so close. Just a couple of hops next-door. The hotel makes for a very convenient trip for gambling with many casinos and fine dining within such a short distance. The Hotel food court was big and many choices. Many more transients here at the food court in the day, even with security walking around alll the time. Some transients talked to themselves inside, some digging through the indoor trash food court cans, getting into fights with Dunkin Donuts management. It was like this each day :( and was very sad to witness. Many types of slot games, but missing a larger variety. Medium number of table games. The hotel would not be a top pick for me again, but given the proximity to other casinos and great food in this area, I can see why others might like it.

The hotel did a nice job remodeling! The staff overall is friendly and nice. Love the free valet parking and there is a refrigerator to stock your goods, in your room! Plus a big 65 inch TV. The room is very small, but that is much more than offset by the aforementioned amenties and price/value! The long thing is... don't gamble here. The remodeling cost how many tens of millions of dollars?? And who do you think is paying for that??! Lol. We found the Fremont slot machines to be absurdly tight now. Before the remodeling you for go to Fremont and win quite often. But now, they have mostly the gimmicky, flashy new machines that pay nothing. No doubt Fremont wins with this strategy of crushing the small wage, tourist gambler (like many casinos). But the consistent gamblers (in the thousands of dollars, like me) are saying adios to Fremont. We went to Golden Nugget, and it was very obvious they had loosened their machines. We won, and we saw 3 or 4 machine pay lights flashing.

LOCATION: Fremont Casino is one of the original casinos of the beginning of Las Vegas. With the renovation and upgrades to this hotel, as well as many others on downtown Fremont Street, it’s a fun, more casual happenin spot of Vegas for tourists. There’s a Walgreens, gift shops, plenty of updated bars, live entertainment (formal and informal- with fremont street live experience groups and street performers), zip line and the very cool electronic tv screen rooftop where there’s live jam sessions combined with colorful video graphics every hour in the evenings. You truly can just stay on fremont street and be entertained, gamble hopping over to the various casinos, and it’s all covered if it rains no problem, and the casinos are just a few steps from each other (not like main Vegas strip where you sometimes have to walk over bridges to the next casino). CASINO: They definitely updated this casino. They extended and added a food court with some great selections including Dunkin Donuts, Craft Kitchen, Steaks & Shakes, and so on. There’s a small but intimate sports bar area, and the updates also are reflected with the nice bathrooms. They truly did a great job updating this casino. It’s a cool vibe here, and you can see where it all started for Vegas with the history. SMOKING: It’s an old casino y’all. No matter how hard they try or have a non smoking casino area, it’s not going to work. There is a smoke odor period. If you get a non smoking room, the smoke smell is subtle, but it’s there. These original vegas casinos were built back in the day and they can do their best, but it’s just not going to remove the smoke odor all together. ROOM: Pros- I was impressed by the updates. It truly looks like what it does in the pictures on the website. You can check out the photos as pictures are worth a thousand words. The bed was COMFORTABLE, sheets and blanket were also comfy. I slept WELL. The bathroom has a nightlight built in so if you use the restroom in the middle of the night you won’t be blind in the dark. Decor is nice, very modern. Bathroom was spectacular, but it is a tad small but still great. Hot water comes out immediately. Plenty of towels ready for you. Cons- Not as clean as I like it to be honest. I pay attention to the small things so these may not bother you, but there was a couple of dried nuts left on the ground under the work desk, and a piece of a candy wrapper on the floor by the bed which makes me question the vacuuming. Also dust in crevices (not obvious places) and in the closet. The obvious thing for me was the hand prints on the window. They obviously don’t clean the room thoroughly, but it’s surface level cleaning where again, it’s not obvious until you get settled in and notice these little, but important things. TV cable has 25 channels or so only but I guess who is in Vegas to watch tv? Depending on where your room is, you can hear the fremont street experience when the music and digital music show goes on every hour but it ends at midnight.

The hotel is located right on Fremont Street with all the attractions. Valet parking was included in the hotel price for us. Very convenient! We specifically asked for a quiet room. Accordingly, we did not hear anything from the music. However, idiots with their roaring cars and motorcycles were very present. Nevertheless the stay was OK.

I want to like the Fremont. Nicely done renovation of the TINY rooms. The bathroom was almost too small for one person. But, everything worked. Housekeeping came first three days…. Never came last three??? The issue with the hotel.. NOISE! I asked for a “quiet” room and front desk did her best. 11th floor as far away from Fremont as possible. The music til all hours was ridiculous. The vibration could be felt that far away. The hotels have to do something about the piped in volume ! The food hall is nice… but way over priced. Tony Romas is a hit… but people sitting on the floor in the casino waiting in line … sometimes even laying down in line? There should be a better way to handle the lines. Service all over Fremont hotel was good. I Was pleased. As much as I enjoyed it… I would probably stay at California if I stay downtown again… the noise was such a problem. I can’t image how bad it would be with a “non quiet” room.

Being a Boyd supporter, I have played and stayed at several Boyd properties but this was my first stay at The Freemont in Vegas. The hotel is older but Boyd is investing in several renovations and updates that are great for the Casino. There is a food court in the back of the Casino (steak and shake, Dunkin, etc) as well as a "Chinese" kitchen and chocolate factory inside the casino. The lobby was under construction but I expect it will be updated soon. The room on the tenth floor was small but clean and cold, considering is was 100+ degrees outside. It's not a strip mega resort room but effective. The only issue we had, which is not unique to this property, is the bass from the music on Freemont Street. We were on the street listening to music and it seems that it's not necessary to rattle one's chest with volume. I like loud music but is would be nice if the hotel owners would work with the event staff to lower the volume just a bit, especially after 12AM. My wife and I agree that we would both stay here again.
