Located just a few blocks from the harbor, the Inn at Strawberry Bank was a quaint, romantic place to spend the night last September. It is within easy walking distance from the Strawberry Bank Museum. We enjoyed touring the city and Albacore Submarine museum. Our room at the Inn was lovely and they served a very nice breakfast in the... More

Once again we loved staying @ the Inn @ Strawbery Bank, Sally, the innkeeper is so warm & hospitable and the Inn is so close to downtown! We parked there and walked everywhere for the weekend! The rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was wonderful and Sally even had coffee ready early for us before our walk! Great place... More

As a Portsmouth native, recently I spent time as a tourist, in my hometown and because I wanted to be within walking distance of the town center I c hose the Inn at Strawberry Bank. My room was comfortable, also the bed was very cozy. Breakfast was great, one day fresh blueberrie pancakes, the next day an egg breakfast with... More

While the furniture may not be antique, the room was extremely comfortable, and the host couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was fantastic. The location couldn't be better, just a couple of blocks from downtown, the waterfront, and Strawbery Banke Museum.

The Inn is right next to Strawbery Banke and within walking distance of downtown and the waterfront. Granted, the building is old, the furnishings are not upscale and the bathrooms are tiny, but the inn keeper does her best to make sure your needs are satisfied...need ice and glasses @ 10 PM, she's there, ask for a hair dryer in... Stayed one night in October. Room musty and furnishings of boot/yard sale quality. No access to any refreshments in room, how much does a coffee maker cost?? Even if in communal area. Great location but seriously overpriced.

There is nothing quaint about this place. The furnishings are of yard sale and thrift shop quality, but not in a whimsical or charming way. The decor reads functional cheap. The tiny bathroom had a tiny, clogged sink in a tiny, tacky vanity. When have you seen 2 oz paper cups offered as water glasses? That's right. A dispenser of... More

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Strawbery Banke on May 14th for our anniversary. The Inn is in a wonderful location and very central in Portsmouth and within easy walking distance to many restaurants, museums and other night time activities. On the front door stoop I noticed the old boot scraper and with a nearly 200 year... More

We stay in Portsmouth every year for our annual get-away. Couldn't stay where we usually do but were quite pleased with the change. The Inn is a true bed and breakfast with no frills except an exceptional breakfast. Room 5's bathroom was down the hall - the only negative aspect. It's a great location, close to restaurants & shopping and... More

Where to start? The B&B is located in a 200 year old house! «Wow!» I said to myself when I reserved room 4 (170$) a few months ago. To our disappointment, we found a rundown B&B in desperate need of TLC. Likes: the location could not be any better Dislikes: the shower was in need of a good cleaning, mildew... More
