This charming cluster of clapboard cottages is an antidote for city slickers and suburbanites stuck in stripmallandia. It's a quaint, no-frills slice of seaside Americana with homey furniture, lacy curtains, taps that have separate hot and cold knobs and a verandah (remember those?) with the whole blue & white awning vibe - only it's authentic. There's a hearty, homestyle seafood... More

The cottages are immaculately maintained and the space it very well utilized. We spent most of the time walking the beach and going to shops. The cottge was nice to come back to and relax. Owners are fantastic and very accommodating!!

Our family has been coming to Hoyt's Lodges for many years and it has become a famliy tradition that we all meet in Portsmouth and Hoyt's at least once a year. The cabins are family oriented, clean and well cared for. The location is ideal, with the ocean just across the road and Wallis Sands Beach walking distance away. The... More

I HIGHLY recommend Hoyt's lodges for a visit along the N.H. coastline as long as what you are looking for is a quiet, relaxing stay with other well-behaved visitors in clean and cozy cottages and pleasant hosts that accomodate your needs. If you plan on raising hell and being obnoxious this is NOT the place for you, go down 1A... More

We have been coming to Hoyt's Lodges for 11 years now, and really enjoy our stay. John and Ann are so friendly and the cottages are beautiful. We never wanted to stay in a motel/hotel when we started coming to New England for vacation and are so glad we found Hoyt's. The cost is very reasonable, cheaper than a hotel... More

This beautiful setting is hard to find! First word used to describe the places here are CLEAN and pristine!! The owners are very attentive to each person's needs. We've been coming here for about 10 years, with and without children, now that they're grown. The kids (and us) have extremely fond memories of it. Quick beach access, walking distance. The... More

Our cottage reservation was for one week, to be followed by a New England tour. But our stay at Hoyt's was so great that we stayed on for a second week and skipped the tour. The cottages are extraordinarily clean---a remarkable feat, given that the sandy shore is just a short stroll away. The owners are thoughtful, friendly, and responsive.... More

Hoyts at Wallis Sands is a beautiful location. Although the cottages have ample decking to enjoy the sea air, they are very tiny and situated very close together. In our unit, sleeping arrangements are creatively solved by using the kitchen as a bedroom. The doorless shower area afforded a little too much togetherness. In fairness, everything was clean and neat... More

A cheap place without the cheap price. You are provided 1 kitchen trash bag for a week, and after that you are expected to go shopping and re-use your plastic grocery bags. I thought the owner was joking when he told me this but he was dead serious. Also had to practically negotiate for two more rolls of toilet paper.... More

Hoyts in set on a great location but the cottages are oddly built . Hosts are on the unfriendly side and have far to many issues with thier rules. There are rules posted every where and they like to keep reminding you. They have dogs but act funny if you want to pet them.
