I am sitting in front of the fireplace at the Sugar Hill Inn with a glass of Pinot Noir and loving it. Earlier in the day I asked Steve where I could buy a Wall Street Journal. He said "no need, I have it on my ipad". I had never used an iPad before and Steve very graciously gave of... More

We stayed here this fall and for the price (granted it was peak foliage season) were very underwhelmed with the room (we stayed in the Peckette Suite). Being close to the road was not so much a problem, but the room itself was not very private as guests walk around outside to get to their rooms or to the parking... More

Thank you for sharing your views with the tripadvisor family of travelers. We were surprised that you did not love the Peckett Suite. A recent trip advisor review called the Peckett Suite a gem. For those not familiar with the inn, the Peckett Suite is our second best room and is absolutely loved by all. The suite has a large... More

My husband and I recently stayed for the weekend at the Sugar Hill Inn, off the beaten track north of Franconia Notch, in New Hampshire. This was our third time at the Inn and we have had a consistently excellent experience each time. We like to get away for a weekend in January for some down time away from everyday... More

I want to say THANK YOU to Steve Allen, the owner of the Inn, and his Executive Chef, Val, for a pleasant stay. My wife and I spent two wonderful snow filled days here during the Christmas Holiday and the staff, the room, and the dinner were all exceptional. We had the best dinner that we have ever had in... Absolutely outstanding experience. Very refreshing to have all expectations met or exceeded. The "Dream Cottage" was amazing. Radiant floor heat, gas fireplace and separate portable heater provided amazing comfort during a cold weather stay. The espresso machine was a great extra as part of a full efficiency set-up. My wife and I very much enjoyed the spaciousness of the room,... More

Wow. We stayed in dream cottage for our honeymoon in October, we were in New England for two weeks, this was the best stop off we had. Dream cottage is every bit as luxurious as it looks in the pics. The innkeepers were very chatty and friendly and we had a lovely card and present from them in the cottage... More

We stayed here for one night. The food at the restaurant is superb, so is the service. It is not cheap, but worth the money. On the other hand, the accommodation is so overpriced. We will definitely dine here again but will not stay in. More

We understand that value is a personal issue and everyone perceives it differently. We would never want someone to spend more then they could afford. At the Sugar Hill Inn we use comment cards to track value. 94 percent of guests score our value as excellent and 98 percent score us as good or excellent. On this couples recent trip... More

Second trip to Sugar Hill, 1st with current owners, enjoyed the 1st time, loved the 2nd. Love the no TV, cell service atmosphere, endless places to view and hike the whites....The dinners are amazing and the service excellent. Each bite a taste treat.... worth the long drive. Will definitely return. If one is looking for glitz, large rooms, shopping or... More

This was our third visit to the Sugar Hill Inn. We loved the location in summer and winter and have always wanted to see the fall color. It was a spectacular show. We stayed in the Betty Davis suite. This bright and sunny room located over the dining room has windows on three sides and the most amazing views of... More

We were traveling on business and had a break in the schedule so we booked (ahead) here after reading rave reviews and ratings on the Inn. Although a little before peak leaf time, we wanted to go to an inn where 'all our expectations' would be met. A minor quibble on dining: Since the inn only serves dinner part of... More

Thank you for staying with us and for your lavish praise of our restaurant. In your words “it was off the charts...fabulous food, service, ambiance”; The award wining dining is why so many people choose to stay at the Sugar Hill Inn. I wish to address the issue concerning several recent “so so” reviews. You might think that the Sugar... More
