Stayed 2 nights and they upgraded us to a bigger room and lower floor for no additonal charge. Poor Richards is the best value for the Cape May B&B experience. Location could literally not be any better. No complaints at all.

My wife and i chose to stay at Poor Richard's Inn again this past weekend. Harriet is a great hostess and is very helpful. We were in room 6 on the third floor, which was a nice, decent sized room. The clawfoot tub in the corner of the room was a nice touch, although the shower was definitely not designed... More

Poor Richard's Inn definately enhances a vacation in Cape May with it's breakfasts, accomodations and charm. I love Poor Richard's Inn in Cape May. I have stayed there maybe a dozen times and always have a good experience. You cannot get a better location in the city of Cape May and Harriet, the owner always does a great job of making guests feel welcome. There are fancier B&B's, and you can certainly spend more money for... More

Poor Richards is our favorite place to stay in Cape May. We have had to stay at other places when Harriet was all booked. They didn't even compare. The Inn is decorated in Harriets own colliage art which is absolutley incredible..each room has it's own character and charm. Harriet makes you feel like you have known her for years from... More

This is one of the quaintest bed and breakfasts in Cape May. The owner, Harriet, makes you feel that you are more than a guest, but rather a good friend. Prices are reasonable by local standards. The best deals can be had after Labor Day. You are within walking distance of the beach and the mall. We love it and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
At Poor Richard's we try to strike a balance between today's informality and yesterday's charm, without being pretentious or overbearing. We're friendly and helpful, but respect your privacy; and while the rooms are furnished with period pieces, our primary goal is to have guests feel comfortable and "at home" — we're not aiming at strict Victorian authenticity...and our prices aren't too outrageous. We are located less than a minute's walk to Cape May's main beach. ... more   less
