Thank you Mai for your consistently high standards of comfort, seclusion and relaxation. We were completely delighted with our latest stay in Prince Albert and the breakfast you cooked us prior to our departure lasted for a 600km drive through the Karoo! We will for sure return. Have a flourishing winter. Love Jules n Myrtle.

Mai's is certainly the most welcoming, accommodating establishment we've experienced in our travels. Charming rooms (each one different) and a delightful garden considering the hot weather in summer. We were lucky enough to get the outside room by the pool, which was stunning (think midnight swims after a wonderful meal at The Gallery). Mai was a fount of information about... More

We spent two nights in prince Albert at Mai's, probably the most homely of all the guest houses in our three week trip. Late victorian bungalow with very efficent cooling system (Prince Albert gets hot), delightfully informal garden and pool and thoughful touches in the bedroom. Clear winner of the Best Cooked Breakfast on our trip, served under vines on... More

I stayed at Mai's towards the end of February for two nights. My friend and I arrived a bit later than we had expected, but this was no problem for Mai at all. She greeted us with great warmth and energy, and showed us to our fabulous rooms. She was able to provide any information about Prince Albert that we... More

We diddnt intent to stay in Prince Albert but once we saw the rooms of Mai's Guesthouse, we had to stay. Charming person, beautiful rooms, great location and a breakfast better than in a 5* resort. Tip: go to the top of the hill during Sunset, you wont regret the light and scenery. I'll be back...

Mai is Mai's. She welcomes you with open arms and nothing it too much trouble. The old karoo house has spacious rooms with handy fridges and tea/coffee making facilities. The beds are particularly comfortable and you wont want to get up. But when you do you enjoy a local breakfast in the vine covered yard with local fruit and museli.... More

Beautiful guest house in a central location within Prince Albert. Our room was very large, tastefully decorated with a double bed and bunk beds - great if you have kids. It also had a spacious en suite bathroom. There was fridge/freezer in our room which was also handy. Breakfast was a joy, outside in a vine covered court yard. Lovely... More

Top your experience up in the Karoo at Mai's guest house. Warm, humorous, and professional but real hospitality right in the center of beautiful Prince Albert. Great inviting & welcoming old "homestead" with comfortable beds and big cool rooms. Pool was a great plus to cool down at the end of hot day and so was the super super breakfast... More

Very nice place. Clean cozy and very nice owner. The place has a lovely garden where breakfast is served. I would recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Prince Albert. If you have the chance, take the drive back through the Swartberg pass. Absolutely stunning!

Having spent time at Mai's this past weekend, I am again reminded of the wonderful time I spent there during the 2010 World Cup recuperating from a procedure that was done on my right ankle. Not only was I made comfortable and propped up in front of the television while the rest of my party went of exploring the rest... More
