My boyfriend and I took a Friday off work from Santa Fe and decided to drive through Chama and up to Pagosa Springs. We stopped in Chama for lunch and then spent the day up in Pagosa. Upon heading back to Santa Fe last light around10:30 p.m.,and about 20 miles from Chama we struck a bear going 60+ miles an... More

Rooms were overpriced at $95. Upon arrival we asked front desk lady for a map and info on the town. We were told to go to the Visitors Center (which had just closed at 5:00). Maybe she could take the time to get some for her customers. No food for breakfast. Wireless internet was intermittant. When we pointed this out... More

This a great motel! My family and I decided to go on a short road trip and we needed a last minute place to stay. When I fund out that we were staying in a motel , I expected it to be an old motel , since we were in such a small town! The second we walked into the... More

Stayed for 3 nights to ride the train and see the area. The room was huge and the service was excellent. It wasn't a palace, but, it was everything we needed including being dog friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The fall colors in New Mexico were stunning although Colorado's fall colors were already gone. We were in Chama... More

We stayed here 2 nights to ride the train. Even though it is not the newest (or oldest) motel in Chama we felt it was a good value and well maintained for a tourist destination. The room was clean, furniture and bedding in good condition, AC worked well and everything in the bath room worked. The motel was is far... More

When planning for our overnight stay in Chama in order to ride the Cumbre and Toltec steam train, our hotel options seemed rather limited. After looking and looking, and looking some more at the limited options available, I chose to make reservations at the Branding Iron Motel. It turned out to be a good selection. I needed a room with... More

This was our first trip to Chama Days. We were a little late on reservations for a place and this was the only one available... GEE I wonder why? Well here it is in a nutshell, this place runs your credit card 4 days before you arrive for the full amount??? unheard of! why would you pay for services not... More

I stayed here 2 nights. The room was spacious and very clean, with standard motel equipment, but no fridge. The front desk staff where friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable. I would stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable. No frills for sure, but the owners and staff were pleasant and we had a nice stay. We would stay here again.
