Discovered this hotel 2 years ago and have been back there 3 times since. Situated in a quiet area the outlook of this hotel may not be glamerous but the rooms are clean and spacious with big comfortable beds. The available continental breakfast is not a highlight however. Had a minor problem once which was taken care of immediately. ThePrices... More

Ahh, the anchor inn. Was put up here by my business, so I was not expecting the four seasons, and judging by the hallways garage and elevator ("rusty" as another guests 6 yr old child called it) it certainly seemed so. However, the room itself was a pleasant surprise. Spacious (for NYC) big king bed, clean sheets and had that... More

I have been a regular at the Anchor and have almost always found the service and room to be very good. I prefer the rooms with a jacuzzi in order to relax. There were a couple of occassions when I pointed out a deficiency and it was resolved to my satisfaction. The hotel is located in a very safe, solid... More

This is an old looking hotel with an old looking elevator, lobby and hallway. The rooms are beautiful though with big comfortable beds and nice amenities. More

Great communication before the trip when I had a few questions about different rooms, rates and such. This was my second time staying here due to the fact it was not only clean, but the staff was very helpful. This is a great area with plenty within walking distance. Great restaurant next door, Bell Blvd has plenty of restuarants and... More

My 19 year old son was on the final leg of his eastern USA trip and was let down with other accommodation. My son had run out of cash etc. We contacted the hotel and arranged for payment to be made from my details in the UK - so it really helped my son and gave his parents some comfort.... More

Stayed here because my company booked it. The bathroom had been remodeled and it is the only area of the room that was nice. When I entered the hotel I knew it was not going to be a good experience. It's very dated and everything from the parking area to the entire hotel area needs to be improved. Getting to... More

I needed to stay in/near Bayside while househunting. I booked this hotel on Expedia but first called Expedia to explain that I am traveling on federal government travel orders and would present a certificate that enables me (actually the government) to not pay the local taxes. It's a New York State form. Expedia said, "be sure to explain to the... More

This guest was at our property for an extended stay (19 nights) in one of our studio apartments. We as the management were very happy to have him and we welcome the feedback. Unfortunately, it seems that Expedia misinformed him regarding its tax policies. The way Expedia works is that a guest pays them room and tax directly and only... More

We checked in on August 27th as a result of being evacuated from our home due to Hurricane Irene. Checking in involved a 45 minute wait and only one person handling the check in arrrivals. Each and everyone one checking in before us, returned to the front desk with a problem such as "there's already someone in the room", "the... More

During Hurricane Irene, people, offices, homes and hotels all suffered evacuations, major leaking and flooding in the surrounding area. We were fortunate that we did not have any major flooding and that the damage was limited to some minor roof leaks. Most people were thankful that we were here and able to accommodate their needs. As I am sure you... More
