Our fourth visit to the Asa Ransom house, just a wonderful retreat when life gets in the way. The rooms are charming, nothing like sitting on the balcony enjoying nature. The food is excellent and the staff is always charming. Gracie the Golden retriever greeted us with a thumping tail as she lay resting. She isn't a puppy anymore. Saturday... More

recent lunch experience was disappointing. the soup was cold and flavorless. quiche bland and dry and hot tea was tepid. My friends $14 salad was saucer like and lacked any presentation. The rolls were good and the server pleasant though. the room was cold and I have been there for the tea sessions and found this also. The quality has slipped... More

We appreciate your contacting us of your recent lunch. Sorry your soup was not up to temperature, we have purchased a new heat unit that will eliminate any future occurance. Chet has been making our vegetarian quiche for 24 years and has received nothing but rave reviews. Because of so many people’s health concerns, we limit the amount of salt... More

We first stayed here in '84, and have never found it wanting in any way. In fact The Asa Ransom House is the standard by which we judge all other B and Bs. Over the years, on trips to New England, our whole family has stayed here, and we've stayed in each room, both in the original building and the... More

We were looking forward to another wonderful B & B experience for our anniversary, which we do quite often to celebrate. We are used to being welcomed by the host, given a quick tour of the common areas, and then relaxing on our own. Our room at Asa Ransom had a lovely jacuzzi and some beautiful furnishings. At this B... More

Asa Ransom is a gorgeous place with 10 different rooms all decorated perfectly. The room descriptions and color pictures are on their website. A plate of fruit, cheese and crackers welcomed us with music playing from an old fashioned radio. The restaurant was excellent (I'll do that review in the Restaruant section) and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Coffee is... More

My husband and I live out of town, but my parents live in Buffalo and we were coming in to town over Christmas to visit and to take my mother out to dinner for her birthday. I made reservations for 5 of us for dinner a couple of weeks in advance and told the person I spoke to on the... More

We stayed 6 nights at Asa Ransom, in the Joseph Elliot room. This is the smallest room but we found it comfortable and relatively quiet - it faces out to Route 5 so there is some road noise early in the morning. The breakfast was great! Fresh fruit bowl, muffins, pastries and a selection of about 6 entrees are available;... More

Very lovely with period details of course. What was the most fun though was how it had a little restaurant downstairs that brought the surrounding community in. We loved all the interesting people and it seemed like alot was going on. Also LOVED Grace the dog. What a sweetie! Great staff ready to help and supply suggestions of sights to... More

Charming period inn with delightful dining room on the premises. We had our own porch for sipping early morning coffee. Service was amazing with attention to details. Breakfast was a treat with more home-made choices than we could possibly enjoy. Dinner reservations made it easy for us to continue to enjoy the quite and quaint village of Clarence. There was... Stayed in the Wilson Greatbatch room - very spacious, nicely furnished with a lovely fireplace. Bathroom was smallish and its' updated decor did not harmonize with the antique/reproduction furnishings of our room and the rest of the B&B. (not the plush bath one would expect attached to this bedroom) The king bed was comfy; the pillows should have been replaced... More

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay. The waitress apoligies for not relaying your egg request to the kitchen. The bathrooms in the older section of the Inn are not as spacious as in newer 1992 southeast wing. We will put on our thinking caps on how to find space to enlarge. New pillow are on order, with...
