A throwback to the seventies...not bad for a place on the market. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Would recommend their mini getaway package! The food was yummy and the waitstaff charming. All around great place to stay for those on a budget.

I realize the Inn is for sale (for some time) and they may not want to put any more money into it, but its very dated. We paid about $100 plus tax for a weekday off season room. The package deals aren't deals...just watch the menus and prices for the rooms...deluxe rooms aren't exactly like other Historic Hotels that we've... More

We wanted to spend a couple of days in the 1000 Islands region and decided to stay in Clayton. compared to Alexandria Bay ( which is full of bars) we decided that Clayton would be a better place for a "romantic" stay, and what better than an historic inn? that at least was the theory... the 1000 Islands Inn reminds... My husband leaves the vacation planning to me and after much researching the area I decided we should stay at the inn. I love checking out places with a great history and beautiful surroundings. From the time we arrived until we left we had a great time. Dinner in their restaurant was delicious. And they've got a pkg plan with... More

We stopped in at this in in late fall. The gentlman at the desk was rather gruff but after we got to know hime he was quite colorful. The Inn is a great old building with narrow stairways and hallways that all creek when you walk on them. It is clean and comfortable and the price is good for this... More

The rooms are very nicely decorated, a cut above the motel room! This is a VERY old hotel: no AC in the rooms (window fan & ceiling fan provided circulation), no ventilation in bathroom, and uneven floors. If you grew-up in an older home, it will bring back memories! They had a King size bed (seems to be a rarity,... More

We booked in advance (before leaving the UK) to break up our drive from Toronto to Syracuse (visiting family). The room did not seem to have been redecorated since the 1960s. The floor had a steep slope up as you entered and the carpet was slick and shiny so it was easy to slip on it - especially if visiting... More

My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the historic Thousand Islands Inn in Clayton, NY. While the Inn was not for everyone (especially anyone not able to handle the stairs to the guest rooms) we found it charming and fun. The owner/operators were always around to help you make your stay more enjoyable, including a... More

We needed a place to stay in the area and found this place online. The pictures on the web looked nice, but in person this place is terrible. The room was on the third floor, no air-conditioning or elevators. The room had peeling paint on the windows, which were propped open with pieces of wood and a fan in front... More

Lots of fun to stay in such a quaint bit of American history. Grand staircase up to large old fashioned rooms w/huge windows and fantastic view of St. Lawrence Seaway. We were right accross the street from the public park/dock and it was fun to enjoy sunsets on a bench overlooking the water. The dining room was just as it... More
