We stayed over New Year, and really loved the romantic setting of the resort, the fishing + bird-watching opportunities, or just chilling out by the pool or near our room. I caught my first 4 fish ever (a real thrill) and deepened my tan. The room's aren't lavish, but the mosquito nets work and the beds are quite comfortable, (although... More

I stayed at Tiger Bay Lodge in Kariba for five nights in September 2012, with my partner, toddler and Mum-in-law. This was my first visit to Zimbabwe, and the Tiger Bay Lodge proved to be an oasis. The location was spectacular, we saw lots of game at dusk going to the lake shore for water. The accommodation was comfortable and... More

My daughter, Sarah got married at Tiger Bay on the 7th July 2012. We hired the Zambezi Trader to sleep 50 guests and Tiger Bay hosted the remaining 35 guests. The setting and ambience made such a wonderful background to a truly African bush wedding. Jonathan and Sarah's photo's were done on the shorelines of the Ume River, such a... More

It offers unique accommodation and leisure facilities and boasts a sense of calm and tranquility that can only be found in the African bush. The staff's efficiency and welcoming attitude, together with the general surroundings, wildlife viewing and fishing... More

After many years of hearing about this resort we finally got a chance to visit for a weekend. A wonderful experience. Scenic accommodation right on the Umi River. Hippos were munching the vegetation right outside our chalet during the night. A super experience.

VISIT TO TIGER BAY February 2012 During a visit to Zimbabwe of my daughter, her husband and two young sons we spent three nights at the remote rustic resort of Tiger Bay. Like most Kariba resorts it has suffered from a shortage of tourists, so has seen better days, but the staff went out of their way to make our... More

The boat crossing was hectic having a huge storm on the way over and rough water on the way back. The 60 Km boat trip takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Setting of Tiger bay is fantastic. Fishing very good and all close proximity to the lodge. Staff were excellent and really try their hardest. The rooms are all in great... More
