Rostock Ritz is a rather unique, but beautiful & remote Namibian lodge, situated along the border of the Namib-Naukluft Park, between Swakopmund and Sesriem (Sossusvlei). 240km from Windhoek * 240km from Swakopmund * 120km from Sesriem * 180km from Sossuvlei * 55km from Solitaire. It is located on 12.000 hectares of unlimited vastness. A glance in any direction emphasizes the... More

like being in a star wars movie, landscape with badlands and moonlike features, all in a quiet atmosphere with good food and nice owners. Loved the meerkats who live there and the herds of zebra's you meet while hiking in the mountains.there are long and short hiking trails that start on the property . It's in between sossusvlei and the... More

From Swakopmund on our way to Sossusvlei, this was an obliged stop for lunch. Totally lost in the middle of nowhere. Who, in the world, was crazy enough to settle in the middle of desert land? They did and the architecture is a success . I can speak only of the restaurant and it is very good one as far... More

Rostock Ritz was an enforced stop as we could not drive from Tok Tokkie to Swakopmund in daylight hours. The rooms here are individual igloos designed to be cool in the hottest weather. The owner was very welcoming and nothing could be faulted with an excellent menu choice for the evening meal; ostrich steak for me and hake for my... More

Impressive setting and architecture, attentive staff and the sweetest meerkats. Food was good with exception for the vegetarian option which was unispired and looked improvised. Other than that a clear recommendation om your way to or from Sessriem to Windhoek.

A pitty - we booked only 1 night. In the middle of nowhere I'll find that charming place - run by a perfect friendly family, you feel accepted the first moment. The round houses are small but cosy, a terrace with a super panorama overlooking the desert & the Naukluft mountains. Dinner was perfect: lovely meal with candles around... For... More

We were looking for a pitstop between Cape Cross and Sossusvlei and the Rostock Ritz was just about perfect in terms of distance and ambience. We were pleasantly surprised - we thought this place may have been a bit more 'dated' but instead we got quirky, domed rooms with private little balconies overlooking a waterhole and beautiful savannah. Thoughtfully, tree branches... More

This was our first visit to Rostock Ritz, but surely not the last one... We were pleasantly surprised by the natural beaty of the place and the friendliness of the staff.. After a long journey through the desert this was a real oasis to quench your thirst. I recommend this to all visitors to the Namib....

We headed out to Rostock Ritz for the weekend. The roads are not the best but the scenery far outweighs that! Arrive to the lodge to be greeted by friendly hosts and after a cool drink went to our rooms. Very clean, comfortable and small balcony to listen to the animals at the distant mini-watering hole. Reccommend the Kuecki's Garlic... More

I have been to Rostock Ritz three times. Twice as part of their famous Fly-In in beginning of June. Those weekends are fantastic and the prize extremely good. I know that the standard prize otherwise is higher but this is also a very special place to visit. I have also been here once for lunch. This is the perfect lunch-stop... More
