I've stayed at this hotel twice. I was lucky enough to get this discounted on both visits due to knowing a member of staff. The hotel is basic as is the breakfast but overall a happy and friendly place to stay. It has a small but clean pool with a bar area. Try the Julbrew. It's a lovely beer which... More

Gambia is a little hidden gem in winter! Great weather, hot during the day, cool at night! I stayed at this hotel for a week in Jan. First time in The Gambia. I'd read some awful reviews....but do not dismiss this hotel...yes at the moment its a bit basic. They put us in a noisy room at the front, next morning we asked... More

Friendly staff, cats and egrets! Stayed here for a night on the way to Farafenni and again one night on the way back. The room was nothing special, but having spent two weeks 'up country', the luxury of hot water and electricity which worked, it was a welcome relief. There was a reading light by the bed, and a television,... More

True, it's basic but you have everything you need. The pool was great and equally so the bar staff who served drinks allday. The guys outside the hotel and at the bar opposite (Palm Tree Bar and Restaurant) actually made our holiday. It's a short stroll from the strip and to the beach.....in my opinion well situated. Having been travelling... More

We stayed at Mansea with our son age 7 for ten days, we all loved this trip the best of all trips to Gambia. not just where we stayed. everything. The hotel was ok, rooms were basic and a litle dated. and no air con!! the pool is smallish but adequate. the staff there are brilliant however. The pool attendant... More

Let me start by saying I am not a 5* hotel person, in fact I always go for 3* ish so I do not expect luxury, however this was dreadful. Furthermore I would never write so much as below but the whole experience was the pits. I have also left it a long while to write in the hope it... More

There has been a lot of talk about the new ownership of this hotel and how service is getting better. Don't believe a word of it. Perhaps they are updating the odd room but ours was dark dingy and smelt of damp. Our shower was hanging precariously from a loose wire. Security seems to be non-existent since you could not... More
