Four of us stayed only one night in the renovated former palace but everything about the Mashariki made us feel like royalty. Each room is unique and elegant, beautifully furnished with great architectual accents and 20 foot ceilings. I had the pleasure of eating both breakfast and dinner at the rooftop restaurant and both meals were exquisitly prepared and plated.... More

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of spending 3 nights of our honeymoon at the charming Mashariki Palace. Situated across from the House of Wonders and Indian Ocean, the Mashariki is the perfect place from which to discover Stone Town. Our room, with its 25 foot ceilings, view of the Indian Ocean and absolutely stunning architecture and furnishings,... More

Stayed at the place for one night.Hotel is a renovated Palace and very deceiving from its sorroundings. Located in the heart of old stonetown, this place offers the best value for exquisitely furnished rooms and service. For those, who are looking for the same look in a hotel regardless of what continent that the happen to be visiting, this might not be the place... I stopped in the Mashariki Palace Hotel for just one night. It was far too short. An excellent and competitively priced venue. Good service, attention to detail by the owner, and excellent fare. I have seldom enjoyed such a good steak. I will be back for longer the next time, both to enjoy the hotel and explore the island some... More

We stayed at Mashariki for only one night on the way out of Zanzibar. The hotel is an exquisitely restored palace where every room is unique. The best thing about the design is the restraint exercised by the decorators - everything is gloriously simple but feels stylish and luxurious. We paid for the cheapest (Dajarani) room and it was small... More

Dear valuable young Guest, on behalf of all the staff I wish to thank you for your comment . Regarding the valuation of your room, I don't think it is elegant to compare different hotels on the basis of the square meters only. Anyway your room is 24 sqmts plus the bathroom of 5,50 sqmts. We have also different room's... More

Wonderful staff, really quiet and tranquil hotel in the middle of Stone Town. Centrally located near just about everything but very quiet and romantic. Large rooms, hotel bar, massage/solar area, and restaurant on the rooftop. Glad we stayed at this hotel rather than others. If you get a chance definitely do a Safari Blue day tour, eat at the Indian... More

This is one of the most tastefully beautiful hotels I've ever seen. Set in the heart of historic Stone Town, this building has been completely renovated with grace and modern Italian style while still being true to the Arab and African influences that make Zanzibar such a fascinating place. Amazing. Rashana and Renaulto, the Italian couple who manage the hotel,... More

Wow, this hotel is one of the best hotels ever seen in my entire life of travelling. My wife and I stayed couple of days. It was like a palace: vast, light and airy, and furnished with impeccable taste. Renato the general manager was helpful, friendly and made the difference. We had a huge room with a fantastic sea view... More

We spent only one night at Mashakiri, on the way to Coastal resorts. If we went back we would definitely send more night. Rooms and common spaces with a 'soul', each space is individually designed and has a mixture of Italian and middle-eastern touch that makes it unique. The Italian management is always present and extremely helpful. Unfortunately we had... More
