I stayed here for two nights, and was very impressed by it. The views overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park are superb. The staff was very kind and eager to help. One of the employees was even kind enough to massage my ankle which I had twisted chimp trekking in Queen Elizabeth National Park, The rooms were comfortable, roomy, and very clean. I enjoyed... More

We stayed at Katara Lodge for 2 days in the beginning of march 2013. We were a group of 12, traveling with a norwegian foundation. We stopped by Katara Lodge for a few days, and it is beyond fantastic! The food is absolutely great. It must have been the best food i ate in Uganda, especially the steak. The view... More

The property is beautiful -- the landscaping and buildings are all lovely. And the views looking over the valley and the park - just stunning. The cottages are very large with a seating area, huge bathroom with shower and also a clawfoot tub, a 2nd bed which is on wheels to allow it to be rolled out onto the deck... More

This lodge has great views from both the public areas and the rooms. The public areas are furnished with chunky wooden furniture with comfy cushions. There is a lovely corner to look out from and have a welcome ginger tea or juice. The dining area is on the other side. There are pretty lanterns hanging. Grounds are beautifully kept. Rooms... More

Friendly staff, really nice rooms, spectacular location and well managed. The food was plentiful and fresh. We did the chimps in the gorge trip - didn't see any chimps but did find the grumpy bull buffalo!

I'll start from the end, the place is not just for a regular trip to Uganda, the place was built to service those who are in an honeymoon. We stayed there one night in January 2013, and enjoed every minute. The public spaces such as the dining room and sitting area are of great scenery, beginning of the day at... More

We stayed for two nights at Katara Lodge, and found it to be the perfect spot for accessing the QENP. The views from the site, and from the chalets, are absolutely stunning, but the Lodge was more than that! We found the staff to be really warm and helpful, and the chalets to be roomy and comfortable. There was even... More

Katara Lodge was gorgeous and our room was gigantic and splendid. The food and service was delightful and the people working were fabulous. The gardens, the poolside bar and adjoining lounge were absolutely lovely. We appreciated the support of the local orphanage that was exhibited through the sale of the jewelry and items made at the orphanage and bought a... More

Thsi lodge is a little way out of Queen Elizabeth National Park and in a small village. Any anxiety we had about the location was soon forgotten when we saw the views from the lodge. Just incredible. All the cottages are spread out and well designed so you can close the outer layer if it is cool or open it... More

I am seriously wondering if I stayed in the same lodge as the people commenting below. We stayed just recently in late September (2012) with 3 people for 2 nights; and indeed the view is really amazing, and the rooms are nice, but the rest is – at its best – mediocre. - Food is mediocre – for a lodge... Thank you for your review. We acknowledge that we were not at our best during your stay. As this is a public forum, however, we wish to deny your claim of having found a cockroach in your food. A spider had "abseiled" from the grass thatch ceiling and landed on your table, but it was immediately caught by our waitress... More
