This is a nice family-run hotel close to Mirepoix’s main attractions. The town is well worth a visit and this is a good place to stay and eat. We had some difficulty finding the hotel due partly to Mirepoix’s one-way system but on the positive side, all the locals from whom we sought assistance were kind and helpful. Parking could... More

Our stop over at the Commerce Hotel in Mirepoix was not a good experience. The room was shabby and small. There was a small group of elderly french folk staying at the hotel at the same time. At breakfast we were unbelievably rationed with just one croissant each, but baguette and biscotte as much as we liked!! The hotel is... More

This is a very reasonably priced hotel, and I thought it was great value for your money. Very quaint with creaky stairs and dark hallways, lots of atmosphere. Friendly staff who speak a little english. Everything was clean.

Hotel is well positioned, situated on the edge of the medieval centre, and street parking is available outside. I did not find the staff over friendly, but they were efficient. The room was adequate, and was excellent value relative to the price. The courtyard, covered by a canopy of trees, is the centre of all food activity, and provides a... More

Mirepoix is a stunning bastide town, beautifully preserved and well used by locals and visitors alike, who lounge around the large central square solving the world’s problems while they bask in the sun. The place to stay in Mirepoix is Hotel Le Commerce, a traditional French hotel with a lovely creaky wooden stair, wide corridors and large rooms opening out,... More

Le Commerce is a lovely hotel to arrive at, with its tree-shaded courtyard and lovely old polished wood bar. It is right next to the cathedral, just off Mirepoix's picturesque main square. The furniture in our room was old and of good quality. The wallpaper and carpet were also old and... not in great condition. The wallpaper looked downright grubby.... More

We used to eat regularly at Le Commerce restaurant up to 15 years ago when we had a home in the Mirepoix area so when we returned this summer chose to stay there for two nights. It was lovely. It's not a chic hotel, it's old fashioned and very slightly shabby - but in a completely acceptable way and very... More

We booked this shabby old-fashioned hotel for one night, but ended up staying five (in two chunks) ... once they'd changed our room, that is. The first room (at the back) overlooked a scruffy courtyard in which an elderly dog left little smelly piles everywhere. When we complained about this and a loose loo seat, we were moved to a... Overall it was a scuzzy place, charming as a family run place in France might be with an ok looking normal restaurant downstairs (we didnt eat there though), however rooms were like you might expect above an average British pub. The climb to our rooms at least was dingy and carpets are pretty awful to be frank (rooms included). Friendly... More

I must say that the people in the Hotel as well as the restaurant were fantastic. It's an old building, and as such, the entrance and staircase up to the rooms were beautiful, with wood railings and steps that had aged beautifully. The room was a surprise, specifically for the carpet; in dreary condition. It seemed like it hadn't been... More
