The grounds are dense, lush and loaded with trees and shade, which is great. And our site was large. It seems like a lot of the sites we saw were also pretty roomy! We wandered the park grounds early in the morning. The falls and the gorge were beautiful. It seemed to get quite busy on the paths after a little bit but who wouldn't want to enjoy all that beauty. Well worth the pit stop on our road trip to nowhere!

We stayed in a tent at the campground for 3 days. We really liked the location and our loop (Seneca village) and would recommend the sites on the outer edge of that loop. First, people don't camp here to be alone in nature, the are there to see the gorge, or go swimming, or whatever, but the campground is basically just up the road from the town of Watkins Glen.
