We enjoyed a great 3 nights in Saint-Emilion at the Maison de la Commanderie. The rooms are air conditioned, a rarity in our experience in France, the beds are kings, and the furnishings and views from the Commandeur suite are some of the best ever. This suite also has a private balcony overlooking the bell tower, Monolithic Church and beautiful... More

Based on Tripadvisor reviews we opted for this accommodation and were not disappointed - small but nicely put together (you need to be able to climb stairs) - personal rather than impersonal would describe this small hotel. Once you get to your room you will find an unusual but pleasant room nicely appointed and clean. We stayed in Templiers and... More

I enjoyed my stay at this B&B. My loft room was clean and well appointed. If you don't want to climb up and down stairs to get to the bathroom or if you want to watch TV from bed - don't get a loft room! The breakfast was typical European- nice touch with home made yogurt. St Emilion is a... More

I was looking for a room to stay in St. Emillion, cheapest one cost over $100 online. I almost give up then I found this little hotel, located at the top of the mountain. The original price is 98 euroes, but he gave me a discount for 93. Sweet! I ended up spending a night in a top floor, room... More

Do not look anywhere else! it's a small guesthouse, feels very homely, very nicely decorated, i love the rooms! what a lovely place! The owner is such a sweetheart, advised us on where to go and was very helpful. i loved the atmosphere in this place as soon as i walked it. NOW the breakfast, in the kitchen, big table,... More

The hotel is in a good location for around the town exploring, and the decor is pretty nice. However, I have to add this would not work for light sleepers. Walls are too thin and noise from the kitchen and stairway woke us up. Also, if you drive, note that the very limited parking lots beside the hotel gets occupied... More

Maybe we are a couple of curmudgeons and being over 60 perhaps a bit fussy, but we found this place a bit disappointing. In fact we found St. Emilion rather disappointing, being far too touristy with prices to reflect that. Of course it is a pretty place and the roof top view from our room was lovely, but the room... In terms of the proximity to the town, you can't do better than Maison de la Commanderie. It's not a hotel but a guest house with 4 rooms. Room is a tiny duplex. You don't want to spend more than your sleeping hours inside. But it's so conveniennt as a base to explore all the sights and history of St... More

What a lovely old building with a HISTORY behind it. It was a pleasure staying here and imagine the events that it must have winnessed over the centuries, from Knights Templers onwards. This place is a must do visit. Hosts welcoming and rooms well up to a good standard. Breakfast in the kitchen with great preserves and a selection of... More

What a wonderful place! We stayed here for one night as part of our 4-day journey back from Southern France to the UK and it really was the height of our trip. The whole town is gorgeous and this beautiful hotel is not only very central, but has fabulous views over spectacular roof-tops and towards the valley beyond. The home-made... More
