If this hotel were on the mainland, I would not consider it to be particularly good value for money. However there are two key factors which affect my review. Firstly, is the island’s distance from the mainland. This puts a price premium on just about everything which has to arrive by ship. Secondly, because tourism is such a big part... More

No it wasn't cheap, but it was comfortable and clean with a few surprise touches that made it special, and no rations on your tea and coffee in your room. The staff were very friendly and obliging, seemed happy in their work and nothing was too much trouble. The invisible chef deserves special mention because the food was excellent and... More

Had a great few days at the Bell Rock Hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and light and the bed was comfortable. Towels and gowns were provided when using the swimming pool and the water temperature of the pool was just right. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty of it. Booked on the... More

I am sorry that you were unhappy here. It was very apparent that you did not want to even be on Scilly, let alone our hotel, even before checking in as a member of my team had to call for my assistance after being on the receiving end of abusive behaviour. She was very upset indeed, and I appreciate that... More

We found the staff of the Bell Rock Hotel invariably friendly, warm and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and the whole atmosphere was inviting. The rooms were light and airy during the day and there was good lighting at night. The lounge bar was comfortable. The food was good and service excellent. We would definitely go... More

Excellent location matched with everything one would wish for from a really good hotel. Lovely people. Would certainly visit again. Selection of food was very well thought out each day and very well prepared and presented.

We found that the Bell Rock was comfortable, clean and very friendly. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. Some of the rooms are quite a bit smaller than others but there were plenty of extras that you would normally expect in a good hotel. The hotel lies between two beaches and is handy to the bicycle rental... More

We stayed at the Bell Rock for a 4 day short break after Easter. First impressions of the hotel were very good. The hotel is clean, staff are very friendly and efficient. We were in room 4 at the top of the stairs. The room was a bit small but the adjacent bathroom was half the size of the bedroom!... More

Thank you for your review, and kind words about our staff and service. We have a small team base and everyone chips in to help our guests enjoy their holiday. Room 4 is at the front of the hotel in the older part of the building. The rooms vary in shape & size on this side, as the building's layout... More

My first visit to the Isles of Scilly which offer good old English traditions which are often lost in today's resorts - great beaches, friendly, helpful service, pleasant walks, messing about in boats and a wide variety of plants and birds. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay but embracing these traditions still leaves opportunities for the hotel to offer the best... More
