The tranquility and serenity that we experienced during our stay is beyond words. The plush Biltmore room, the rushing of the room side brook and the spring blossom scent in the air prompted immediate relaxation. The proprietress, Judy and Joe were welcoming and engaging. The homemade biscuits were melt in your mouth delectable.

Only stayed 1 night on our way to the mountains, but felt like family! You won't find better people than Joe and Judy. Situated at the end of the small road, mountains on all sides, little babbling brook, wrap around porch (all rooms have access doors) on both levels makes for a great getaway. Five star breakfast and good stories... More

We stayed at Rock Laurel for 3 nights to explore the Ashville area. The property is in a very remote location by a babbling stream. Lovely situation although a little away from restaurants etc. Joe and Judy were exceptional hosts and plied us with (free) wine and beer. Joe always has a story and is very willing to tell it,... My wife and I stayed at this delightful B&B for two August nights while visiting the Vanderbilt Mansion and friends in Asheville. Judy and Joe are consumate hosts and prepared the most incredible breakfasts both mornings. Our bedroom was very spacious and quiet, with just the sound of an adjacent stream to lull us to sleep. Highly recommended and great... More

Stayed one night. Close to Ashville, great welcoming hosts, best breakfast I’ve ever had at B & B. A great start to our vacation in Western North Carolina. Would love to go back:)

I wanted a country setting, and I got much more than that. The hosts were warm and made you feel like family, if you were so inclined. The first night I was so tired we went straight to our room. The next night we joined them for beverages in their livingroom for a fun and lively conversation. Breakfasts featured fresh... More

From Candler you drive six miles of lovely scenery and then you find Rock Laurel B&B, drive over a small bridge with a beautiful brook running under it and you feel like your home. It may not be home but Joe and Judy will make you feel at home. They serve a great breakfast and our room was clean and... More

We’ve stayed in hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts all around the world, but never did we enjoy a visit more than the one we had at the Rock Laurel B & B. Joe and Judy Holloway have to be the friendliest people we have ever met. Immediately, we felt like family. The house is set next to a creek... More

I would echo what has been said by the other reviewers - this is a lovely property convenient to Asheville, comfortable rooms and great breakfast. The rooms are not air conditioned, but I imagine there are few days out of the year where one would even miss the AC (we were there late June & it was cool & comfortable).
