Room 308 has bed bugs. I was bitten and covered with bites by 10:30pm. No other rooms or roll away beds available. Had to check out the next day. Needless to say this ruined my Valentine trip to the mountains. Not a single apology from the day staff and no compensation other than not charging me for a miserable night... more

How often do 17 and 21 year old boys get excited about a family vacation? Ours did over the prospect of a few days at High Hampton with our good friends. The scenery always takes our breath away, we love the dining room, the meals, the fellowship, the rugged outdoors activities, yes, even Bingo. The rooms are rustic and spare... more

This was our first trip to High Hamption Inn. My husband and 9 year old daugher spent 4 nights at this beautiful spot. We enjoyed the lake, the tennis courts, the driving range and the wonderful waterfalls (which are within 10 miles of the resort). I absolutely loved being disconnected from the TV and internet and could really relax and... more

My husband and I went to High Hampton for a wedding (and it was my birthday weekend) and were so excited! It is expensive, but a weekend away without the kids was worth it. We drove up to the beautiful, rustic clubhouse, ready to enjoy ourselves. We have both traveled a ton, so we did not let it get to... more

We've stayed here 3 times and have always loved it! I will say that it's not for everyone though. It's rustic and there are no televisions, phones or air conditioners in the rooms. Our cell phones could never get a signal here either. But if you want to get away from your busy life for a few days these supposed... more

I have been going to High Hampton with my family for years. This year was my first trip with my fiance and it was fabulous. He absolutely loved it. I have been there during the summer and the off season and both are great. I like the activities of the summer and the quiet and slower pace of the off... more

I have wanted to go to High Hampton for a long time and was finally able to do so in September. We realized we were in the offseason and that the guest list and activities would be lighter, but there were just too many small things that were "off." First, we had requested an in-room refrigerator when making the reservation... more

My 2 girls (5 and 3) and I just returned from a 2 night stay at the High Hampton. I only reserved 2 nights because I am a single parent and wasn't quite sure what I was getting myself into with no tv and no ac and such. . . my girls and I loved every minute of it. While... more

We just returned from 3 days, Thursday through Sunday at High Hampton. We have 3 boys under 8, and went with my sister and her family who have 3 children under 8 also. The children had a wonderful time - all is very child friendly and there are TONS of children around. Everyone seemed to make instant friends with the... more

My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the High Hampton Inn. This resort is a great place to get away and to enjoy one of the more beautiful places in America, the mountains of south west North Carolina. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor I wondered if I had made a mistake in booking... more
