This agriturismo is a great base to explore Western Sicily. Within easy driving distance from Trapani, Erice, Marsala and salt mills. The place itself is in the deep countryside. Very decent rooms, decent food. Olive oil is fantastic.

While on a tour of Sicily we stopped at Baglio Fontanasalsa. At first, its looks are deceiving. However, upon enjoying our 5-6 course meal I can safely say it was the highlight of my vacation to Sicily! You Simply cannot go wrong here! Please try the Olive Oil Gelato! It was make your taste buds melt with pleasure!

Baglio Fontanasalsa is quite basic and rustic, but the rooms are comfortable, and the cooking is excellent. There is a swimming pool and attractive courtyard but little else. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a few days but it is a good stop off point if travelling around Sicily.

If you go to Sicily, make arrangement to transfer to Fontanasalsa a village on the Western coast for a typical lunch of the region. This bag io is an 18th country villa restored.
