We used Tripadvisor to choose our hotels on our travels to the east coast. We did the coastline of the Gaspe Peninsula and decided to stay overnight in the town of Gaspe. Motel Plante rated well on Tripadvisor, so we booked it. It was a lovely place overlooking the town and the river and a close walk to a couple... More

Located atop a hill, the motel offers a great water view from its many porches, and it is also a very short walk from Gaspe shopping and restaurants. The rooms make no attempt at style or luxury, but the beds are comfortable, furniture convenient, and everything clean as a whistle. Kitchenettes well equipped. No cafe or breakfast room, but there... More

Gaspé is a busy industrial place and the hotel area is not scenically attractive. The entrance to the hotel is narrow and not inviting, but the white and blue facades improve as you get to the office. I saw a room with kitchenette, and a double room, but decided on a junior suite, despite the cost because it was in... More

We had a deluxe room with queen bed. It was a fairly standard motel room, with a large seating area. We had a lovely view of the bay from our window. The location is great, not far from the main highway and near a small shopping centre that had a grocery store and a few other shops. Free wifi too.... More

Day two of our "unresearched" trip. We arrvied in Gaspe. The drive to the city was long and made even longer by the road repairs and the wind turbines being transported to the area...lots of delays.Anyway we found another hotel, well motel that look great. And it was.Very basic no frills but extremely clean with a nice kitchette. We were very close to... More

We stayed at the Motel Plante and salmon fished in two fantastic rivers, the York and the Dartmouth. The motel is very centrally located and within walking distance to great restaurants. The rooms are basic but spotless and feature a small kitchenette. The front desk staff were very helpful and efficient. The Gaspe region is beautiful but it is unfortunate... More

I stayed at this motel over night while in Gaspe to correct exams for my local school board. The bilingual reception desk offered a quick check in and are very knowledgeable. The outside of this hotel leads on to believe that the rooms might be dated, but they are far from being old. The room I had (26) was nice... More

This is a traditional style motel, totally kept up to date. Fortunately the rooms in the original were not small and the result is an attractive stay and quite up to any standards of the name brand 3-story hotels one sees by the hundreds on our continent (there are none in Gaspe). Motel Plante is on a hillside in the... More

We arrived in town late and night and this motel offered us the best deal in town. Rooms are spacious, clean and warm and there is a convenience store within walking distance. I would definitely recommend the motel and it probably has some great views in the summer.

The Motel Plante was the second best motel out of 35 different ones we stayed in during a recent cross North America trip. It was close to being the best and the top two completely outclassed the rest of the pack by far. A very good, very well equipped and attractive unit, and particularly good value. It was quiet at...
